We were on the 16th floor and had an amazing view, so close to Cavill Ave, yet far enough to not hear the noise all night. Rooms are a little run down but it appears renovations are underway. Will definitely stay there again :)

Stayed here with friends early this month. We booked a beach view apartment at $102 per night. The location is easily accessible and close to shops and restaurants. The staff at the reception were friendly and welcoming. We stayed in apartment 701. The apartment has big glass windows all the sides with city and beach views. There is no balcony but it has sliding doors on the beachside to turn that side to a balcony. At night we kept the sliding doors open and dropped into sleep listening to the waves. The bed was a bit old but comfortable. There is no air con in the room but there is a heater. There is no kitchen but there is a microwave and a small fridge and coffee making facilities. Also there is an USB charging port to charge your devices. The TV is big but has quite a few dead pixels but we didn't watch TV anyways. The apartment and toilet were clean although they won't service the apartment every day. The closest public transport is Caville or Cypress Ave light rail stops which are around 400m away.

There is a cafe downstairs that serves buffet breakfast for $15. Also the area is close to all the surfers paradise attractions and restaurants. There are many other facilities like swimming pool, spa, sauna, games room and free DVD rentals which we didn't use much. For the price we paid it's definitely a good value given the location and accessibility to the attractions. I strongly recommend this place.

Room Tip: Don't forget to try the buffet breakfast at the cafe downstairs. It's a good value for money...

The only minus was the noise on the Friday night but that would have been loud where ever you stayed. Saturday night was fine.

We had a wedding down the Gold Coast so decided to have a 2 night break after many checks on the net we went and checked out the above hotel, was very centrally located in Surfers one block back from the Mall. Foyer was very clean and well organised, staff more than helpful. We picked a room with a view over the beach, absolutely gorgeous.

Room Tip: The Friday night the traffic and local noise was extremely loud but on the Saturday night was all ok...

I booked three nights in the Gold Coast before flying to Cairns. The Gold Coast is quite an expensive place to stay, so for a little bit more I went all out and went Chateau Beachside. There's no hiding the fact it is a little dated and tired, but I was really happy there. On one of the booking sites, I think its Expedia, they gave you the room sizes. For $97 per night you can have a hotel type room at 26sq m but for $104 you can have an apartment at 46 sq m. I paid the extra and went for the apartment and thought it was good value. I had a double bedroom, fitted wardrobes, a kitchen with cooker, microwave and fridge as well as a dining table, TV and stereo.

Things to look out for: airport shuttles are expensive, $41 return which is quite a lot. A lot of hotels in the Gold Coast don't do free WiFi, Chateau Beach side gave me 200mg free for 3 days.

While I was there the hotel was having some work done to the exterior which involved quite a lot of load drilling. I was a bit annoyed so I mentioned it to reception. After talking to the manager at check out he refunded me $40. He seemed like a really genuine nice guy and it made a difference in my over all experience. A lot of hotels are good when everything goes smoothly, but you find the value of a place when something goes wrong and I was impressed by their response.

All in all, I'd recommend it

Got this stay at a discounted rate on Agoda and I am very pleased with the booking. The location along the beach provided a great view of the sea and it is within walking distance to the shops & eateries on Surfers paradise. The furniture in the room is slightly old but everything you need is provided & in good working condition. Breakfast was simple but it was okay as Macdonald's is nearby if you feel like skipping breakfast. Enjoyed my stay on the whole!

Great position. Always stay here, probably around 10 times now. The staff are friendly, windows are being replaced and now any client staying more than 1 night can have a free continental breakfast. Will be back.
