“Not worth it”
Reviewed 17 December 2007

We made a walk -in booking at this hotel for three nights. We were told the two bedroom apartments were the best and shown one that was 'air conditioned'. The air con was in the living room, but we were assured that it could easily cool down both bedrooms, this was certainly not the case. The first night we realised the air con wasn't going to reach our room so we turned on the fan full whack! This was so noisy we had to turn it down, ended up with a constant squeeking noise, hardly any sleep and a very grumpy first morning to our holiday. The next day was sunday and we were told they could not get anyone to fix the fan and they could not move us to another apartment without charging us an extra 'cleaning fee'.
so the second night was spent on the floor of the lounge, after dragging the mattress in to the only air cond room. I was really really disapointed with the overall service here, three nights cost over $500 and the actual apartment was very worn and tired. The view was amazing and this hotel is in a very good location but i'm afraid there are hundereds of places to choose from and my advice is don't stay here. We're still waiting for a refund of $70 that was promised to us on the day we checked out.

Four friends and myself were fortunate enough to stay here over a week during the schoolies celebrations. The apartment was on the 17th floor (top floor, so lucky!) , clean and the view over surfers was amazing! The beach on our doorstep and only 3 blocks to Cavill Ave - perfect walking distance, but far enough from the action that we could escape the louts. Staff were friendly and professional, facilities were well taken care of...I truly have no complaints!!!

We stayed at this hotel for a week and while the location was great and the two-bedroom apartment OK (decor a bit dated, laminex in the kitchen with a few burn marks and kitchen appliances at least 20 years old except for the microwave!), it was generally pretty good. Walking distance to the centre of Surfers, right across from the beach & an indoor pool for those windy days when the beach water is too cold (often happens!) are the pluses. The big minus though is the lack of locks on the sliding doors to the balconies and all of the wind-out windows. No flywire, so a child could easily flick open the lock or climb out onto the parapet under the window and then ... heaven help us! No window was lockable ... I asked the staff why there were no locks at least on the balcony sliding doors and was told it's up to the individual unit owners and no-one bothered. According to the staff, people who hired the rooms generally tied a tea towel around the door handle at night-time! With three active kids under 7, I could hardly sleep in for the week, worrying that they would get out onto a window ledge or balcony unsupervised. So if you have a young family and are hiring an apartment, ask about door and window locks! Beach Haven at Broadbeach had them in the apartment we used there and that was great peace of mind .... lift your game, Beachpoint!

Free cable television Theres an indoor and outdoor swimming pool, Spa and sauna also two free undercover gas barbeques by the pool . Theres secured free parking below the building. Everyone was very friendly. Good value.

We stayed here in February of 05. February is one of the hottest months in Australia, so be prepared for the heat if you're planning on going in that month!
Our room was not bad; it was a little dirty and had a funny smell. I also found a porn magazine in the cupboard under the tv! Once again, no air conditioning, just a fan that didn't really seem to do much. We asked for two single beds, and instead got one double bed, however we enquired about this and the staff happily brought in a rollaway bed for me to sleep in, and it was rather comfortable anyhow. I didn't have a problem with the noise at all, we were out all day and kept very busy, so it was quite easy to go to sleep. As I find with a few apartments we've stayed in, the cutlery doesn't ever really look clean enough to eat off. I don't know why this is!
Other than those little niggly bits, it wasn't bad for the location; however I don't think I would stay there again myself.

On arrival we were informed that we would be getting an upgrade to a 2 bedroom apartment as they had overbooked the one bedrooms. Well, if this was an upgrade I would hate to see what we would have been staying in!! The apartment looked out towards the area in surfers where they have the amusement rides (the sling shot and the vomitron), so all you could hear from 10am to 10pm where screams. That combined with the traffic noise was unbearable even tho we were on the 15th floor. There was no air conditioning, so no chance of shutting the doors.

The bed was the most uncomfortable we have ever stayed in. The staff there weren't understanding with us at all, and offered no alternative. We had to resort to taking the mattress off the bed and sleeping on it in the living room.

There was a constant drip of water onto the right hand side of our balcony which made it impossible to use that side of the balcony.

Every wall in the apartment was painted blue and was covered with prints. And every pattern in the furniture and curtains didn't match, making the apartment very uncomfortable to stay in.

The toilets would take about 30 mins to an hour to stop making a noise after flushing the toilet.

There was a screen door on the front door that didn't have a lock which made in inpractical to use, so was just annoying as it was unable to be opened fully when trying to get all the bags in and out.

The shower leaked from base of the shower head which sprayed water everywhere, including over the top of the shower screen, drenching everything that you left in the bathroom.

The indoor pool stunk of clorine, so we avoided that. The outdoor pool was very old and didn't get much sun, so was very cold. The spa was out of action while we were there, so we didn't get to try that either.

So basically if just one of these things had happened, then we could have lived with it, but with all of it combined, it turned out to be the worst place we have ever stayed in.
