This is the first time we have stayed at Beachpoint and couldn't have been more impressed. We are in room 5g which is a 1 bedroom apartment facing south. Right from our early check in on Wednesday 23rd the staff have been courteous, helpful and friendly. The room is fresh and appears to have been recently renovated. As a visitor to the Gold Coast for the annual V8 Gold Coast 600 we will definitely be returning to this accommodation for future visits as well as recommending to friends and family. Made our holiday all the more enjoyable :)

Room Tip: Rooms on south side have views of the ocean as well as Surfers Paradise

This place was excellent - probably the best value for money you will find. The apartments are clean, rooms comfortable and the walk to the beach and down town surfers is short - less than five minutes. After a day out at a theme park, soak in a spa pool, take a sauna or take a dip in the heated in-door swimming pool or outdoor pool if the night is really warm. We used the BBQ facilities which were impeccably clean. A great stay! We'll be back.

Room Tip: These units are renovated every five years so lovely, modern decor look and feel.

Stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment for 4 nights. Very clean, spacious and great view. We were in apartment 7a, DVD player has great for the kids when we were having a break from the beach and theme parks. Aircon, laundry, dishwasher, oven, stove- felt like home. The main bedroom has an ensuite so the kids had their own bathroom. Handy pedestrian crossing to the beach just outside. 5-10 minute stroll to Cavill Ave, convenience store around the corner. Friendly helpful staff. Will definitely return!

Room Tip: Choose an A apartment for beach view.

Decided to travel to the Gold Coast for a weekend away (3 nights), and booked this at the last minute due to it's location and price. I stayed in room 8H which was a 2 bedroom appt. I managed to get my room for $277 for the 3 nights.

PRO'S
- Location: It's an easy walk into the main part of Surfers, and directly across the road from the beach.
- Parking: Every room comes with one complimentary car space which is handy
- Hotel Amenities: There's an indoor heated pool and spa, an outdoor pool (heated in winter), a sauna, and for the more physical, a tennis court.
- Room Amenities: My room contained a washer/dryer, as well as an iron and ironing board which was very handy. There was also Foxtel which was nice. Decent sized kitchen and fridge as well, and a 6 seat dining room table.
- Staff: Friendly and accommodating. Night security guard was a really nice and friendly guy too which was nice.
- Rooms: Decent size, with all the amenities you need including washer, dryer, iron, Foxtel etc.

CON'S
- No Wi-fi: If you're looking to use the internet, there's no facility to do so in your room. There is one internet computer located in the lobby, which is reasonably priced ($2 for 30 mins).
- Room Amenities: No air conditioning and no heating. Wasn't a problem for me as I went at a good time of year, but it does get cold so a heater may have been good. In summer, there's ceiling fans, and you can open all the doors and windows for breeze, but i'd imagine it would still get warm. As you'd expect, the kitchen is dated (and one of the cupboards was locked with a bike lock. ? why), but you're not there to cook up a gourmet meal. Also, in the main bathroom, there was several broken wall tiles that have been sticky taped up. Similarly, the shower in the main bathroom cannot be used comfortably by anybody over about 5'8"
- Reception hours: reception itself is only open from 8am to 4pm, however I noticed it ? closed early. If arriving late, you can still do this with, I assume, the security guard. Wasn't a huge issue for me, but if you want to check out before 8am, make sure you speak to them the day before (early... just in case you go down at 10 to 4 and it's closed - like I did).
- Location: While not a problem for me, some may find the proximity to the slingshot business and the neighboring hotel a problem. I didn't mind, but there was some yelling and screaming coming from both the slingshot and other hotel on Saturday night.
- Location: While not hotel problem, there is significant construction works going on in Surfers at the moment due to the construction of a light rail system. As such, many roads are either closed, or now one way. Traffic is congested, and GPS systems don't know how to cope. My tip, is that if you can make your way to The Esplanade, you'll be fine.
- I'm lead to believe that depending on your room, your car parking space may be on the lower basement level. If this is the case, there is no lift to that level, and you will need to walk up one level to get to the lift.

IMPRESSION
A good hotel for the price in a great location. Sure it's not the Ritz, but at the end of the day, its somewhere to take a rest after you've been out doing all the things there is to do on the Gold Coast. I've certainly stayed in worse places.
Would I return? Sure, but I don't think i'd pay more than I did for the room.

Stayed for 5 nights in 2 bedroom apartment. Great value for money and even though there was just the 2 of us, it's worth the money to have extra space. By choosing a "J" or "A" apartment you are overlooking the beach. We are in our forties and it only takes less than 5 mins to get to cavil av. We booked by mistake as we were meant to stay at imperial surf but were happy with the result. Yes furniture is a bit outdated and there is no tv in main bedroom but that's fine as we don't come on holiday to watch tv. Definitely worth the money.

Room Tip: Only get apartments on northern side.
