“MOST CONVENIENT IN SURFERS”
Reviewed 10 March 2014

This property has unit accommodation. Its fantastic. Has a tennis court, indoor and outdoor pool and is walking distance to everything around Cavill Avenue. Some of the apartments are a bit dated but they are really big and you dont get in each others way. The best thing is that the second set of flags on Surfers Beach is right across the road. So you can swim in the flags and not have to go down to the central beach. We went swimming every day in the beach and then wandered over to sit by the pool so we didnt have to sit in the sand. It was perfect. :)

My second time at this hotel and I was very pleased. At my booking I made a few requests and this were taken care of! My 2 br unit was fairly clean, except the dishes but they are the responsibility of the previous guests. The view was astounding! We were in room 12J Just stood open mouthed for half an hour when I arrived. Upgrade for an ocean view, it will be so worthwhile! The only down side was that the light rail being built pretty much at the base of the building and for some reason they were jack hammering at 1am Tuesday, but that wasn't the fault of the hotel. Grounds are pretty :) our furniture was lovely and beachy and fairly comfy, the foxtel was a bonus. It's not a far walk from cavil ave, and only a few blocks from Coles. Beach is literally a 20 second walk away and there is a bathers entrance out near the pool.
Great family hotel :)

Room Tip: Aim high, the view is worth it. Request a high room!

Thanks Catherine for taking the time to write in regards to your experience here at Breakfree Beachpoint.
We are glad to hear you enjoyed your stay and sorry that you come across some cleaning issues. If you wish to contact me directly to discuss this please do.
The light rail as you mentioned is not controlled at the resort level and we appreciated that you did note this, but I am sure once it is completed it will be a positive benefit for all holiday makers.
We hope to welcome you again in the near future.

Hi- booked this on short notice with Flight Centre last week of school hols in Jan 14. Got sick and tired of dredging thru internet looking at places. Reception staff really nice and helpful. Unit- well walked into 2nd bedroom and daughter got glass in her foot! Was vacuumed again by reception quickly. its very spacious, 2 bedrooms, ensuite in main. Great views which overlooks beach. Building has spa, sauna, tennis court, indoor and outdoor pool. Heaps of parking underneath, but bit tight to negotiate. Close to woolies & Coles. Secure parking. Bad points- Unit needs a bit of TLC. carpet is bit old and manky. Lounge is also old- main bathroom needs a bit of a do over. mattresses are sinking into ensemble, probably do with replacing. Guess its hard with rental premises keeping it nice and new with so many people coming through.Would I stay there again- um probably!

Room Tip: Hard to say. Maybe inspect condition before you book. Unit 12 7th floor pretty good.

Stayed there for 5 days to explore the theme parks, nice spacious room, clean kitchen, but what I couldn't brush off was the rude lady at the front desk. The day we checked out she accused me of loitering and putting my hands all over the glass/mirror panels of one of the lifts, she said I made it so dirty and greasy that the security guard had to clean it again. She also said they had it in CCTV. I was really disturbed by this accusation that I wanted to see the footage, she said she may have just made a mistake. She was very unapologetic. Really??I was furious, she thought I'd act like a child. Not a very good customer experience from this apartment/hotel. Will never go back!

The Apartment was 2 bed room. Looks nice inside but room could have been cleaner. The vacuum had no suction, the hair dryer had smoke and sparks coming from it. The shower heads had no water pressure. But I was really disappointed that I was not informed of the constant road works outside the hotel, jack hammers and machinery 24-7 all week. Difficult to sleep and relax with constant noise. No one is at reception after 4pm.

Great for family of 5 kids age 2,10,14 spacious kitchenette 2br ensuite and washer dryer. Almost 180• spectacular sea views in room 8j. Could be a little cleaner overall but we paid a very reasonable price for 9 nights and would happily stay again and recommend to others . Walking distance to all daily needs and close drive to attractions shopping .

Location great. Beach and surf life station directly across the road. Night markets 5 mins walk, Shopping 5 mins walk. Bungee and other thrill seeking ride at the back of the apartments.
Cleanliness needs some attention. Generally clean but maybe I am fussy. The stove top was filthy and need to be cleaned properly with oven cleaner, sorry guys but tinfoil is NOT cleaning. And it wasn't fresh either. Light switches also need to be cleaned. Furniture was in good condition and the beds were both clean and comfortable.
We rented a self catering apartment and the book says you need to leave the room clean or be charged. We thought we would vacuum. The upright vacuum provided had been broken and was without a handle. We went to reception to report this and borrow another. the head of the vacuum was held together with duct tape, it fell apart when we tried to use it. We promptly returned it and honestly from borrowing to returning it couldn't have been more than 5 mins. We were practically accused of breaking it! It was not the first time we found the receptionist unhelpful and rude and sadly not the last. The comment was: " we don't normally supply vacuums" How else are we supposed to leave the room clean? do I pack my own? from overseas?
Also, the map they provided was useless. Our 'hotel' was on the edge of 2 small maps and therefore not visible! I have stayed at a hotel that had printed an A4 bw copy of a street map that clearly showed things people ask about...like the bus stop to Movie world. Perhaps they should work on improving this as I know that most people do expect the reception to help them with getting around. The bus stop location was 'roughly' given to us. That was two streets away but did she know the number of the bus? NO. how ridiculous!! So for those paying attention. TX1 for seaworld. TX2 for Movie world, wet n wild and outback show, TX3 for Dreamworld. Bus stop is directly opposite the bungee jump next to a scooter hire business.
However, the night watchman was alright, helped us work the door after hours.
