Faultless food and service, personal attention from the Manager, wonderful friendly staff, delicious food. Went even further to ensure my 9yr old had a meal to suit her, just the best ending to our holiday in Surfers, thank you

The seafood basket was delicious. Fresh lobster, prawns, scollops and mussels on a delicious bed of pilaf. Big serving, enough for 3-4 people.

We arrived before 6pm and the place was already packed. We were told there would be a 35 minute wait and were directed to the bar. It was busy and finding a space for four people was tricky however the bar service was quick and efficient with the waiter coming to wipe down a table even though all I asked for was a cloth to do it myself. After 35 minutes our table was ready (exactly as predicted). There were kids placements with colouring in and games and pencils. The kids menu was expensive but the food was worthwhile although one of the kids (10) actually ordered a starter (chicken wings) from the main menu and loved them. The kids fish and chips was presented beautifully. The adults had the sausage and mash (it was called something fancy but can't remember). The mash was good but the sausage had an unusual tang which neither of us found very palatable (however that may be personal preference). We also had one of the burgers which was delicious and huge. The service was amazing. We had a lovely NZ girl serving us who was totally attentive, friendly and efficient. Both drinks and food arrived promptly even though the place was absolutely packed. The view is nice and the venue lovely. Rather expensive for a family meal but very enjoyable and I will go again.

We ate at Hurricanes on 27 April 2014 as it was recommended to us. We were quite disappointed, the chicken served was dry and my potato cold ( I told waitress and it was quickly replaced). i looked down at the floor and saw a huge cockroach running from under my chair across the floor - and under another table - i just about fell off my chair. I thought about telling the waitress, but the place was packed. The best part about our experience was the attentive and friendly service, value for money was poor, our water options were sparkling or still - free bottled water was not offered, but I noticed bottles of tap water on the centre table besides all the plates and cutlery. Nit rated at all by us, sorry, over-rated in fact.

We should know better, Hurricanes is our local in Bondi and venturing for a good burger remains the quest. Following bouts of gastro post ribs, today's experience included plastic wrapping within the Boerewors sausage appetizer certainly didn't do us any favours. Initially the waitress noted and despite not wanting a replacement, indicated it would be removed from the bill. Perfectly acceptable. However the manager overrode her decision and discounted the meal by 30%. Another strike against this chain restaurant for their lack of food quality. Have to counter and recommend the burgers but they need to get their act together on food quality and decent judgement.
