OK, so nit is old (well almost retro) but hey everything works and for $89 including a room with a million dollar view, a bottle of plonk, chockies, a full brekkie and a late check-out - well we enjoyed it tremendously.
The bed was fine (seriously if we don't get stiff backs or sore necks and shoulders, then it is pretty good) if not smallish.
It was fun for a night and the staff are terrific and helpful. The sheets and towels were clean - there are extra pillows. Loads of space - the TV works - the furniture was a little uncomfortable and one of the balcony chairs was broken, but plenty of room to bring out some chairs from indoors. BYO shampoo. So the place needs a refurbishment, but then you won't get all that for $89, that's for sure.
Have fun, and don't expect luxury. Get out and walk and get some real coffee elsewhere.

This place is a complete dump. I could feel the springs on the bed. The whole room was really really old. The bed must have been 30 years old. Great view. That was it. Basically a downmarket backpackers. To make things worse, there were two rooms full of hens so really loud. We bought a voucher online. Took out the iPad and found somewhere much nicer. We just couldn't stay there it was THAT BAD! Notice they have another misleading voucher deal online with OUFFER today. Unreal.

Room Tip: just wouldn't bother. It is a shame as the views and position are very good. Needs a complete...

Was a bit dubious about staying here as friend had booked it, (then I read reviews & was worried) but pleasantly surprised by what I found. The staff were very helpful and although the hotel is about 20 years old it was very clean and the view from the 17th floor was unbelievable! Stayed in a one bedroom, which had a seperate living/dining/kitchen and a big bathroom. Lots of storage for suitcases etc. The breakfast was included in the price we paid - great bacon and eggs - coffee was baddd however. Would definately stay here again. Don't believe all the bad reviews - if you want somewhere clean, comfy & right across from the beach stay here!

Room Tip: Ask for a beach view - its to die for!

We stayed one night and it was great. Our room looked up the beach and out into the ocean. Room was spotless, the sheets and towels clean and the bed was comfortable. Rooms were in need of a refurbisment but carpet and curtains looked new. In the heart of surfers next to the beach the location was fantastic and we walked everywhere. Breakfast came with the room and you had a choice of four different breakfasts. Between the four of us we tried three of them and they were all very nice. We got the room deal really cheap so we thought it was great for the price.

Room Tip: get a room with a view.

We paid $130 p/n it was worth $60, shocking condition. Brings another meaning to the word 'basic'. The only positive was the nice receptionist (on arrival) and the great view. To add insult to injury we were located on a floor with international teenagers on a bus trip. (party, party) Kids will be kids but if you don't want your clientele to return a good way to ensure they don't.

Stayed here on my own last October to visit a friend who lives in Gold coast. I arrived around 5:30, and they closed at 5pm. So they have to charge my credit card the total amount of my stay to guarantee the booking. The receptionist was kind enough wait for me for a few minutes before she closed the reception. I paid $210 for 2 nights that i stayed. Not bad, considering that i was given a room with an ocean view. the location was perfect and i can't stop grinning at the view of surfers paradise on my balcony. Would love to go back if they will renovate the building.

Room Tip: as long as you've got the view of the beach

This hotel is located so close to Cavill Ave, the beach and all the good things about Surfers Paradise....

The room was old, with poor quality carpet, dated bathroom, smelt musty, twisted ceiling fan and basic kitchen. The balcony view was great - directly overlooking the beach.

$5 breakfast the next morning was average... Overall this is definitely a get what you pay for resort....

Room Tip: Ask for one overlooking the beach
