We've eaten here many times over the years, but since change of name & ownership, with many added benefits such as al fresco area and heating indoors, plus magazines, newspapers and an added evening dining session, we seem to be enjoying the place even more frequently. With a very eclectic mix of patrons, good food, value for money (especially their breakfasts), fast & friendly service, excellent coffee and general 'feel good' atmosphere, we often meet local friends there and end up staying longer than intended. Be prepared to queue, it's extremely popular.

Hidden away in a small shopping centre and far away from the hustle and bustle of Surfers Paradise's tourist crowds, we found this amazing cafe, with great food, FAST and friendly service AND amazingly low prices!! What a little gem! Well worth visiting for that quick bite, a get-together with friends or just for a good meal.

Had breakfast here 25/11/13 - had also eaten here two other times on a past stay in Biggera Waters.

Had the bacon & eggs with toast and a coffee... a good start to the day.

Service was prompt, delivered to the table - choose an outdoor table to enjoy the breeze.

When going to a café for lunch I look for three things; great food, great prices and a great atmosphere. Café Uno excelled in all three area’s making it a must on your list of regular dining venues.

There is a wide variety of food available, making it ideal for a group of friends, a quick date, or even a family meal with your picky relatives. On my most recent visit I sampled the chicken Caesar salad and chips. I’m very picky with my Caesar salads and until this point had not found one I completely loved. Café Uno however provided me with the freshest, tastiest one to date. The chicken was beautifully cooked and seasoned just so – there was flavour, but not so much it overwhelmed you. It was tender and practically melted in your mouth. The lettuce was fresh and crisp, and the bacon mouth wateringly crunchy. Accompanied by fresh and crunchy chips – seasoned with just the right amount of chicken salt – and this was one lunch meal I did not want to end.

The chicken Caesar salad isn’t all the café offers however. From garden salads, wraps, burgers, fish & chips, all day breakfasts and much more, Café Uno provides delectable food for even the pickiest of souls. With everything cooked fresh upon order (you can stay and watch if it so pleases you), you can be assured that your food will be of the best quality.

The second most important thing to great food is of course great prices. I don’t mind paying a bit extra for a meal if it’s going to be well worth it on my taste buds. With Café Uno you needn’t worry – the prices are at least half what I would expect to pay for that quality of food. Café Uno’s most famous special is their all day breakfast. For just $10 and under you can get toast, eggs, hash browns, avocado, sausages and bacon at whatever time of the day it pleases you – perfect for any locals in need of a late afternoon hangover breakfast!

The rest of the food is also reasonably priced. Chips go for around $3-$6 depending what size you would like, wraps and burgers average $6-$10, and if you go for a bigger meal you still won’t be paying more than $15-$20.

The café itself is set in a small shopping district. While it unfortunately doesn’t look out onto the water just around the corner, large sun shades provide privacy and shelter from curious passer-by’s and seclude the diners off from the busy traffic. The atmosphere is sunny and warm and it’s almost impossible not to smile whilst enjoying your dining experience here. The staff are warm and welcoming and play off your mood well. If you’re happy and up for a chat they’ll ask about your day, the weather, your family or anything else that might come up. If you’re having a bad day or are in a hurry, some quick pleasantries are still sure to improve your grumpy look.

Café Uno is decorated perfectly. A good combination of friendly/homely knick knacks combined with professional and sophisticated colours and furniture suggests that you’re actually dining in an upscale restaurant, rather than a hidden local treasure.

So there we have it. Great food, great prices and a great atmosphere. Café Uno checks all my boxes when it comes to café dining and it’s definitely in my top three of regular dining spots on the Gold Coast.
