We booked in the morning and arrived mid afternoon. We asked the receptionist if we could view the room. She asked "why would you want to do that"? We'd been driving for hours, had 2 tired teenagers so thought it looked alright and booked the room for 4 nights. Big mistake!

Our apartment on the inland side was like a grotto. The carpet was damp underfoot and dirty, the room smelt musty, the courtyard off the bedroom was unswept and you needed to turn the light on to see.

We headed straight back to reception to get a refund but were told we'd lose a nights rent so stayed for the one night. They found us a slightly brighter room with tiles on the floor. This room still had cup/glass rings on the table, dirty towels still in the washing machine, used cotton buds under the bathroom sink and to top it all off a used condom wrapped in tissue in the bedside drawer.

I wrote the manager a letter early May asking for a refund but have had no response. That is why I'm posting this review.

Amazing Facilities and Incredible Views. Stayed in E33 where the Main Views from Downstairs in the Master Bedroom are looking South to Mt Warning and the mountains including the Gold Coast Hinterland. Freshly Renovated Apartment with 3 Balconies. The Romeo Balcony off the kitchen gave views into the Central area including the Man Made waterfall down past the Heated Pool to the Lagoon Pool which is just out of View. The kids Bedrooms upstairs have Excellent Views of the Ocean all the way to Q1 and Surfers Paradise.

The best View however is from the Top Pool with the Infinity Edge. This Pool is next to the Gymnasium and Kids Games Room at the Top of the Resort. The walk down the road to the shops for Papers or Bakery is about 8 minutes and the Fish and Chip Shop will cook Deep Fried Battered or my Favourite Grilled. The meals are very reasonably priced and it is only a short drive or Cab ride to a selection of amazing Family run Restaurants including Vegetarian and many others less than 5 minutes drive along the Highway.

The closest Surf Club and Patrolled Beach is Nobby's Beach where my Grandparents had a Beach House, so lots of great memories. The Miami High School is next door but the kids are well behaved and were never a problem.

Would highly recommend the Resort as it also has a Sauna and Barbeque area if you want to "cook in" on some nights of your stay. Full Kitchen and Laundry facilities in "all" of the Units and the Unit we stayed in had 2 Bathrooms plus a Toilet equipped Powder room so kids are not running in and out of the Ensuite whilst downstairs.

Security is wonderful, so carry your keyfob with you at all times and you will have no trouble with access anywhere in the Resort.

Wonderful Location and high up for beautiful breezes and views.

We arrived at the Gold Coast (Coolangata) Airport and went straight to our hotel. Check in is not until 2pm so we were advised by the friendly staff on front desk to visit the air conditioned shopping mall just down the road. This we did, ever thankful that we had hired a car!
We had our three children with us (aged x2 10yrs & x1 12 yr old) and they were incredibly excited about the whole theme park experience so we collected brochures and had lunch browsing them. we then stocked up on groceries from the supermarket.
We returned to Magic Mountain at 2pm and were given the keys and thingy that opened gates etc. Parking is in covered car park which allows you access to stairs which lead to room. Our room was on the third floor (no lift). No probs for us but if you don't do stairs this would not be the place. We were told it was ocean view and if you looked sharp right it was!! There was also a fantastic view of Surfers Paradise directly in front of us. Not all bad though because when there was wind blowing off the sea it didn't affect us and at night with the city lit up it had a good feel to it.
The apartment itself was way better than we had anticipated. We had a three bedroom, two bathroom place with large balcony. It was extremely roomy, with two leather sofas and a 42" lcd tv in lounge (running 2 movie channels, kids channel etc) a dining area off the entertainment style kitchen. The kids bathroom had a bath, shower and in a cupboard in bathroom a washer and dryer. One room had 2 singles, and next door a bedroom with a double bed and a little balcony overlooking one of the pools.

The master bedroom was at the other end of apartment with a huge super king bed and balcony, a tv, a walk through wardrobe and bathroom with shower.

The main (and only) thing that let the place down was that the bathrooms could have been cleaner. A little bit of exit mould would have gone a long way in the shower!!

If this place cost 4 or 5 star then really that's not acceptable but at the price we paid for a 3 bedroom apartment in this location with the 3 pools it offered we were wrapped!!

Again; let me emphasize, if you have a problem with stairs don't come here. There are 3 pools. The first is beautiful with sand and a bridge but be warned it is cold!! Kids hopped in and out of it (wet suits are handy we found) but prefered the top pool which is next to a spa to warm up in. There is also a pool with waterfall which is heated in between the other two. Lots of stairs in between as built on a hill. There is a very basic games room and gym by the top pool too.

Lots of shops just 5 mins walk away; including dairy (which took credit cards) a few take outs & restaurants, a chemist, bakery, bottle store, butcher. The beach is another 5 mins from there and was patroled with safe flagged swimming.

We had a pretty full on week; Dream World/Water Park (combined ticket: can go between both parks on 2 day pass) for the first two days, Currumbin Wildlife Sanctury, Movie World & Sea World!! Most of these were between 15 & 30 mins drive away. All very easy to navigate too.
Had a fantastic time. Please feel free to ask about our experiences.
Did go to David Fleay wildlife park but were hugely dissapointed as it is tiny , we were the only people there and it is nothing like the advert. However; after covering the entire park (one pathway) in less than 5 mins were offered a full refund and made our way to Currumbin (which was perfect; a fantastic hands on experience.)

Apartments not serviced during stay. Whenever we needed something ie more salt, etc it was left outside the door promptly. Enough for one clothes wash detergent provided, and one dishwasher load only. you will need bin liners too.
Be aware only white towels provided for use in apartment, not for swimming. take your own beach towels (we ended up buying some but quite cheap ($10 Aus each) and good souvenier anyway!

Really friendly helpful staff. Unusual decor in office for a family resort though! Apparently this is where the bikini models are accomodated each year and the pics are displayed on the walls!! My poor 12 yr old son didn't quite know where to look!

Overall would highly reccomend for the price.

We have just had a week's holiday at Magic Mountain Resort. We had stayed 3 years earlier and couldn't wait to go back. The front desk people were polite and friendly. We arrived in our room with sea views (you really do need to book sea views rather than hinterland views) and we all said Wow! The views of the ocean and Surfers Paradise are spectacular. The walls of the room had been repainted/papered recently by the look of them and had nice artwork on the walls, but the carpets were badly stained. The windows were filthy too and the kitchen bench and just about every kitchen utensil. I spent the first hour of our holiday cleaning! But having said that, we then had a fantastic holiday. Magic Mountain is on a hill and away from the bustle of Surfers Paradise. It is definately the place to be for a quiet holiday. We could hear the waves crashing on the beach at Nobbys Beach. The gardens leading up to the pools are really beautiful and the views in the top pool and spa pool are awesome. We all had a lovely holiday and we would definately go back again.

We have just returned from a week at Magic Mountain.
Our appartment was on the second floor ajacent to the bottom pool.
The kitchen could have been cleaner - the microwave had not had a very good clean and they had just put tin foil over the dirty oven trays. Othrewise our appartment was in average condition but suited as well.
Dispite this we had a great time. The pools are great and our children swam at any opportunity they could.
The staff we very friendly and helpfull and offerd to have the microwave and the oven cleaned for us.
The appartment is looking a bit tired and could do with a bit of a overhall but this would not stop us form staying here again.
There is also a good variety of shops at the bottom of the hill .
