“Great all round....”
Reviewed 21 December 2010

After reading some previous reviews, we were a little worried. However, upon arrival our unit was great, the pools and facilities were great and all round we really enjoyed our time here and would certainly book again. Stayed in a 3 bedroom unit with amazing views overlooking the Gold Coast. Thrilled and loved every minute.

Stayed in a 3 bedroom (7 people) for schoolies from Nov-Dec and had a great time.
I didn't go in expecting a five star luxery resort so I wasn't disappointed. The pictures exagerate what the rooms look like, though I noticed all the rooms are very different.
PROS: View was great, Staff were friendly, Pools were brilliant, the hotel was more spacious then I expected, small grocerie and chemist just down the road.

CONS: I knew about the stairs but I never really considered them, it was VERY difficult to cart bags up the resort and then the 6 flights of stairs in our apartment. Our room echoed a lot so we couldn't have a conversation without getting noise complaints, kitchen pots and pans need updating, we found it easier to cook on the BBQ outside.

Overall I had a great week in the hotel and the cons were easy to overlook. Its not big and fancy and I wouldn't go there if that what you're looking for but It is great.
I would go there again.

I recently stayed at Magic Mountain for 10 nights in room E2. The apartment was nothing like the photos on the internet....it was 1990's decor.

The bed's were hard and the pillow's too! The shower was moldy, and the bath had hair in it from the previous people.

* washing machine sounded like the engines of a jumbo jet
* clothes dryer timer broken
* internet connection...crap
* DVD player didnt work
* no batteries in remote's or clock
* kitchenware dirty
* dirty floors
* balcony area's filthy
* pre historic TV
* window's and furnishing filthy

And I saved the best for last....the black blob growing in the toilet!!!

However, the pools, location, shops, cafes and restaurants in the area were AWESOME!

Would not recommend to anyone.

We stayed at magic mountain resort recently and where very disappointed in the cleanliness of the apartments.
They need to do some maintenance on the building as the internet pictures where not at all correct unless you stay on the beach side.
The service was disappointing and after numerous attempts to discuss things with management the problems where never fixed.
If you are considering staying here I would try to find out whether you are on the beach side although on the phone they will tell you that you are.
If you are concerned about filthy floors,pubic hair from previous tenants, dirty dishes and filthy washing machines I would not recommend you stay. Management did nothing to rectify these problems.
The only good thing about these apartments is they are large however if you are travelling with a toddler check you are getting a single story apartment.
There are also alot of steps so i would not recommend this for the elderly or disabled.
The only good thing about this place are the pools.

We booked a 2 bedroom apartment and requested ground floor as reading the other reviews it seemed a big hike to the higher levels as they have no lifts, as we have a toddler, we thought the less stairs the better! The view was not that great, we overlooked the pool area, but it was still fine. The apartment was very spacious and like a home away from home, had all we needed and more. Hayley, the receptionist was always really helpful and nothing was a problem. Would definitely recommend staying here only if you have a rental car as the walk down to catch the bus is up a steep hill and I wouldn't want to be doing that every day with bags of shopping!

When we arrived we started phoning around other hotels, to see if we could move, but unfortunately we were unable to find another 2 bedroom apartment! It was clean and the grounds were nice and the reception and book in were fine with no problems, but the bedroom was in a very poor condition. The curtains were hanging off the rail, as if they had run out of curtain hooks, were the walls had been scuffed or dented they had been filled but not repaired and our bedroom wall had dents as if someone had hit a beer bottle on the wall. It was very disappointing and embarrasing as we had guests with us from overseas. It was so disappointing. The bedrroms need a good make-over howevert he rest of the apartment seem okay. Average location, too far too walk to broadbeach and very small selection of eateries at nobby beach.

Great family place to stay,Awesome veiws of beach great for the morning walk or run. Close to resturants and local attractions.Great public transport to malls and theme parks. Awesome place to relax during the day with awsome pools and games room for the kids. Also a park 5min down the road for a swing. Having an apartment with kitchen saved us money as we could cook all our own meals. Staying at magic mountain made our gold coast hoilday a dream come true.
