From our apartment (room 13) we were spoilt with a magnificent view of the ocean and enjoyed looking at the beautifiul bright sand that stretched all the way to Coollongata. We were blessed with fabulous weather even in the month of July! Management were exceptionally wonderful. We are proud to recommend this place to family and friends. Thank you. Phillippe and Michelle Homan of NSW.

We recently stayed in apartment 9 for 5 nights with four teenage girls. We had a fantastic time, the apartment was excellent, very spacious, light and clean. There is no road between the apartments and the beach, it is absolute beachfront. The balcony overlooked the pool with a drop dead gorgeous view of the beach. It was a really handy position between surfers and broadbeach, close to restaurants and buses to the theme parks yet so wonderfully quiet. At night, all we heard was the sound of the waves. We all loved the rooftop spa and sauna which the girls headed straight for after an exhausting day at the parks. We had to drag them out to take them to dinner. The view from the rooftop was amazing and there are two fabulous entertaining areas up there equipped with large tables and benches and the cleanest bbq's we've ever seen. The managers, David and Marion, were really pleasan, hardworking and extremely helpful, nothing was too much trouble. We are thinking of coming back again very soon and will definitely stay here again and will recommend it to our friends.

Room we booked on line was not available on arrival due to maintenance work being carried out. However we were offered a bigger apartment at the same cost which was fine. Although this is an older style building that does need refurbishing, the beds were very comfortable and it was very clean. The shower roses in both bathrooms did not work properly and definitely needed new shower roses.
Upon departing we pointed this out to the caretakers of the building who are a lovely helpful couple and they had no hesitation in fixing the problem.
We would certainly stay there again due to the wonderful location right on the beach and the close proximity of the shops.

I booked Viscount as I wanted a good clean apartment on the beach front away for a weekend stay with my parents who were here holidaying from overseas - a 2 bedroom apartment cost $150 per night on special.

Our first impression as we walked in through the front door was "What is that smell?". So we went straight across to the windows and opened them wide to let the fresh air in.

Now the only good point as far as this place goes is the view up and down the beach – it is on the beachfront, but remember there are others with the same view as well.

We had a quick look around the place and thought the decoration was a bit tired but we were in a rush to get out to a show so did not have much time to inspect the property properly.

We were in the second room, which had the twin bed and had a very interrupted/disturbed sleep due to the beds being more like a trampoline than a supporting bed.

As per the photos, there were no headboards, absolutely no support and when we peeled back the quilt covers we found that they were covered in stains, not one small stain but a multitude of stains. Unfortunately the pictures do not demonstrate this properly due to the brightness in the room. My mother wanted another pillow and could not use what was there due to a stain on it and being unsure of what caused it did not like to use the pillow. The carpets were heavily worn and stained as well – enough so that we would not walk around in our bare feet.

The picture of the storage unit in the main bedroom is the condition everything was in, worn, nasty, cheap and old.

It was a disgrace that we had to wash all the dishes before we could use them as they were stained and not properly washed. There was no full set of crockery or cutlery – all mis-matched and old.

On taking a glass from the cupboard there was an L shaped crack running from the lip of the glass and around the top. The fridge/freezer had seen better days but the freezer had not been defrosted for us showing up and was thick with ice. When we opened the cutlery drawers they about fell on our feet as the drawers tilted severely toward the floor and were heavy to put back in place.

As pictured the tongs were covered in rust. We were looking for the kettle and came across a half tin of paint in the kitchen cupboard.

We never used any of the kitchen items as we ate out all of the time and even for coffee would prefer to go up the road a bit to the restaurant. The glass tables in the living room were very smudged with dirt along the edges which we managed to clean the bulk off. The balcony furniture was also cracked.

The picture of the bathroom shower tiles is where somebody has painted the tiles to cover the mould. The mould is still coming through. It is not a major thing but when you book these types of accommodation you normally get toiletries. We got one very small tube of Shampoo and Conditioner in the master en-suite only. The second room got nothing. We did not take these types of toiletries with us as they are normally provided. We only had half a roll of toilet paper in the toilet - we had to go shopping for toilet room as 1 roll was supplied per toilet (1/2 in our case). You are normally provisioned with these types of essentials when you arrive at serviced apartments.

The light fitting with the roof coming away is standard, this was in the laundry room. The appliances again were very old and the dryer was uneven and wobbling around.

Nothing in this property was clean and there was a build up of dust in every room.

On the Saturday morning I went down to complain about the state of the apartment and the Manager said he was shocked as the cleaners were good and it was a great apartment. All of the above was mentioned to the Manager and he said he would have a word with the cleaners. It was stressed to him that we do not come away on holiday to CLEAN before we get settled. You obviously have to tidy up upon departure but I have never had to clean a place to be comfortable upon arrival. When the stained quilts were mentioned he said that they were clean and totally missed the point. Clean or not you should not expect people to sleep on stained quilts and pillows. He was not really interested all he said was that the cleaners wash everything. He did not offer to come up to inspect the property and said he could put a cleaner up but by then we had cleaned what was needed to be done and were heading out for a walk – again it did not seem a genuine offer. The office was closed from 12 noon and there was a mobile number to call the manager. It did not ring despite calling as per an outside line from the room and there was no pick up calling from our mobiles…it went straight to voicemail…so much for it being a contact if you needed the manager. We also tried to ring his apartment and got no response. On Sunday the reception was totally closed and there was no instruction on key drop on check out. Although there was an old wooden box beside the garage exit..assuming this was it.

I think the above says what sort of establishment it is. Poorly run, poorly maintained and very poor customer service.

I should have just walked out but as we had a busy calendar with site seeing and elderly parents to look after we did not want to waste time getting another property to stay in.

We would not recommend this property to anybody. Avoid at all costs.

The Resident Managers were on annual leave when this booking was made. The apartment in question was scheduled for a total refurbishment in May/June and the Relieving Manager should have relocated the guests to another apartment.

Our sincere apologies to the guests who, unfortunately, did not get the opportunity to experience the real Viscount.

Most of the apartments have been refurbished to a high standard and those few apartments that fall short of a good standard are in the process of being upgraded over the coming months. Suffice to say that the building in general is rated four star by the AAA Australia.

This February I was lucky enough to have a return trip to Viscount Towers for a family get together. As usual the view is breathtaking, and the location is just perfect - right on the beach (no roads to cross) and an easy walking distance to either Surfers or the local surf club at Kirra. Although the weather was not great the apartment was large enough to not get cabin fever (it is an older building and so built to a larger floor plan), and particularly with the wrap around balcony we could always sit outside and watch the stormy sea and just soak up the expansive views. We stayed on a higher floor which gives you the great views and you are away from some of the noise you might experience being closer to the ground. The weather cleared enough to enjoy the rooftop BBQ facilities one evening which makes this place even more special.

This place is great value if you are looking in the mid-range of apartment accommodation on the Gold Coast.

Stayed at Viscount Towers in March for a much looked forward to re union/ get together with friends.

Called in a day early (as I was staying in another unit on the coast for a couple of days) to see what time we could check in, and I was told we could probably have the unit from around 12 MD. This was perfect as a couple of the friends staying, were flying in quite early.
True to their word we were in the unit by MD the next day! We were offered a unit on the third floor, but I asked if we could possibly have a unit slightly higher. This was not a problem and we were given a unit on Floor 6. Yes the apartments have been there a while and yes the units are slightly older than some of the new massive high rise, but it was very clean, airy, spacious and so absolute beachfront. It was very well equipped and It was perfect for our get together. 3 bedrooms, two bathrooms and a beautiful roof terrace, where you could see for miles!!

The walk from the apartment block to the beach took all of 20 seconds, you could also gain direct access to the pool area from the beach.

The management were extremely helpful and I find it hard to believe any of the negative comments about these units I read on this site. We booked our stay through the internet and for the amount we paid and the time of year we were there (easter hols) think this place was extremely good value for money!
