Great location. Beautiful view from room. Spacious and clean room. The bed was a little saggy. Breakfast in the sky bar was a little disappointing but the views were spectacular so that made it worth it. Dinner at absynthe was really lovely.

Q1…. One of the very famous Resort and Spa in Gold coast which is Australia’s tallest residential Tower located just a skip jump from the energy and excitement of Surfers Paradise.
To get here from Airport by taxi it may cost you $70-80 depending on the traffic. There are buses as well to get from airport to the Surfers Paradise.
If you coming by train from Brisbane you can get off at Nerang station which is closest to Surfers Paradise and public bus gets connected most of the time for the arriving train however recommended to double check the connections.
The Bus will drop you just 5min walkable distance from Q1.

There are lots of Arabic and Indian food joints (Halal ) near the hotel. Other options are Pizza or Subway.
Since you are staying in an apartment you may want to cook and supermarkets are just below the hotel. 24hrs open ( OWL ).
Cavil Avenue-avenue which doesn’t sleep on weekends… shopping street are all in walking distance.

We stayed at Q1 for 7nights but we were not very happy with the service they provided. Hotel location, apartments are brilliant. But the service gets it down!!!

We had a very spacious Ocean view one bedroom apartment featuring gourmet kitchen with dishwasher, fully automatic washing machine, microwave, toaster, hot water kettle, ironing board with iron, a double door fridge, dining area, sitting area with a TV, enclosed balcony, spacious bedroom-queen size bed with TV and alarm clock, small walk in wardrobe , and a huge bathroom with tub and separate shower cubical.
The view from room was magnificent… some rooms you get to see sunrise and some sunset. Marvellous!!! We have beautiful memories for lifetime here!!

Apartment was excellent but the unfortunate part about this hotel is they don’t service apartment which was quite surprising….
No matter you stay for 2nights or 7nights… same bedspread, same comforter for all the days you stay.
In spite of requesting for fresh and clean once after 4 nights we were informed that’s not permitted. They only change after 8 nights+. Not for 7nights….
Which was ridiculous and astonishing reply I ever got in my travelling experience……
What if we have a small baby who did vive on comforter??? Do we sleep with that??? No change of comforter??? Horrible housekeeping service!!!
2 -3 nights not changing is ok but at least value guest who are staying for 7nights…. In business every customer is valuable no matter who gives you $200 or who is paying $1500 for their stay in your ICONIC HOTEL of GOLD COAST!!!!

WIFI is not free of charge you have to pay for WIFI. We had problem with that also. we paid using credit card, the money was deducted and no service could be availed. We complained and till the day we checked out nothing worked out for our case eventually they said the money would be refunded.
Come-on guys you are big Name….!!! At least have the WIFI free and with strong network…. Even the public buses and trains have FREE WIFI look at the ICONIC HOTEL!!! We had to take ticket prints we requested for access for Business centre after a wait of 30minutes outside the business centre we were told sorry mam we can’t find the keys…. They were all busy with their stuff…
You living in today’s competitive world, try to compete not just live in the world that you have name and location no one can beat you… sorry you are highly mistaken!!!

Hotel has travel desk, coffee shop, supermarket, just on ground level towards the right side of the building. Entering the hotel during late night is with your security key. Hotel has 2 outdoor pools very clean pleasurable to spend time and swim with BBQ facility alongside.
They offer discounted price for the guest for breakfast with spectacular view… superb, worth to pay at least once!!!
Q1 Spa located on the 55th floor I guess was amazing and a must thing to do after an outing in sun to get relax.
Conceirge does arrange transfers to the theme park if you haven't booked that earlier...

Apart from the friendliness of staff and housekeeping issues the hotel is perfectly situated for all the fun on the World most recognised area and beach…. SURFERS PARADISE!!!

Dear ninns_12,

Thank you for your recent review and for choosing to stay at Q1 Resort and Spa.

I am pleased that you enjoyed most aspects of your stay and that you found Q1 to be so conveniently located to everything that Surfers Paradise has to offer.
Our website offers specials for serviced apartments and also for non serviced apartments. The booking rate for a non serviced apartment is often at a discount and means that housekeeping do not visit your apartment during your stay. However, our guests who are on a non-service rate can request a service at anytime during thier stay at a nominal cost. I am sorry if this was not communicated to you. We do provide WI-FI to our guests at a fee, I appreciate your feedback in regards that you feel it should be provided free of charge and this will be communicated to senior Management for consideration.

Thank you again for your valuable feedback; I look forward to welcoming you back to Q1 Resort and Spa again in the future and trust that your next stay will be even better.

Kind regards,

Jason Boggs

3 bedroom apartment has great views but was very open plan, so noisy. The breakfast at Skydeck was expensive and very basic and I noticed dirty bench tops , coffee pots , etc. Long wait for lifts at Q1 and I thought it cheeky to state that clients would be charged $10 if cleaners pack away clean dishes.

Dear Sharon C,

Thank you for your recent review of Q1 Resort and Spa.
I am pleased that you enjoyed your stay, however, I was concerned to read that your Skypoint experience did not live up to your expectations. As Skypoint is a seperately Managed business, I will ensure that your valuable feedback is passed onto them.

Warm regards,

Overall the Q1 has probaly been the best place I've stayed at in surfers. The location is perfect the view to die for and the service and rooms A+ the glass enclosed balcony (which can open and close) was one of my favourite parts.
The discounted breakfast at skypoint for guests gives you access to the observation deck on level 77 which is a must see when you visit the Gold Coast.

My partner and I have just arrived home from our second stay at Q1 at Surfers Paradise, because we had had such a lovely time on our previous visit. As usual, everything was spot on, with everything in the apartment high class and functional. We were on the 24th floor this time - high enough to see the length of the coast in both directions, but low enough to be able to discern all the details of what was happening on the beach. In spite of it being mid winter, there were plenty of people basking in the sun on the beach. Qi is right across from the new tramway which commenced that very week. It is a wonderful manner for visitors to the gold Coast to ride at little cost along from Southport to Broadbeach, where they are able to visit Pacific Fair for shopping, or Jupiters Casino for dinner, a show, or a flutter on the pokies. My partner and I took a slow stroll from Q1 in the morning sun via the shiops up to Surfers Paradise proper where we visited the Cavill Avenue Mall. Here we enjoyed coffee, and did a little shopping. Then, needing to put our feet on the sand a little, just to experience the beach, we strolled to the foreshore which, in the glorious winter sun, was brilliant! A lot of money has been spent to make the foreshore really beautiful, and there is plenty of seating where one can sit and contemplate the ocean and watch the large liners passing along on the skyline out to sea. We thoroughly enjoyed our walk back along the esplanade to our apartment in Q1. This is a lovely hotel to stay in as it is always so quiet and restful, there being a non tolerance attitude to noisy parties which could spoil one's stay. . We will always be returning.

Room Tip: The best room is higher than 24 floors on the sea side of the complex because the views are great, but not too much higher, as it is fun to see the detail of the happenings on the beach before getting up to high. A corner room on the south side would afford both to the sae, and also to the hinterland, which is also very beautiful with its rolling hills. Also, it would be nice to book end June/beginning of July, as Migaloo, the while whale, was swimming past Surface Paradise at that time.
