Mantra Towers of Chevron
Reviewed 4 December 2011

We recently stayed at the Towers of Cheveron Renaissance over the first week of 'schoolies'. Making a booking was difficult as we were not able to book directly (reception staff were unhelpful when i phoned) and so we booked through a travel agent. On arrival it was busy but not too bad and we were given a key and a map for the car park. Clear directions were not given nor were we told that the towers were referred to by names rather than numbers on signage, no one told us about the swipe key system to operate the lift. Therefore we ended up in the wrong tower . 15mins later we arrived at our room. What a disappointment!!. The room was old, tired, dated and not at all what we were expecting. Tiles looked like they were not fully attached to the wall in the main bathroom, the carpet was dirty, the lounge suite was uncomfortable and smelt disgusting as did the cushions that were on it. The ranchslider to the balcony from the living area did not slide freely and need two hands and all our strength to open it. The ensuite bathroom door would not close so you need to shut the bedroom curtains to use the bathroom as otherwise you would be bearing all for everyone to see.The location and the views were great and the "schoolies' did not upset or deter us from travelling at this time of year.We have stayed at many different apartments over the years in many places and have never been disappointed before. It was very expensive to stay at the Towers but judging by the webiste we thought it would be worth it. How wrong we were. We would not recommend nor would we ever stay at the Towers of Cheveron Renaissance again

In Sep 2011, we spent 9 days at the Chevron Renaissance Towers in a 2 bedroom apartment. The resort has a large lagoon with white sandy beaches, and a large heated outdoor jacuzzi (which was very popular with the kids). The lagoon water was a bit chilly, but it didn't stop the kids. There are outdoor BBQs, which are very popular in the evenings. There's also an indoor pool and gym area, but unfortunately, this was out of action for our entire stay :( Car parking was a bonus, as we hired a car during the middle of the trip to get to the fun parks, up to the mountains, and over the border to Byron Bay which is only an hour away. The resort's location is ideal - right in the heart of Surfer's Paradise, about 1 block from Cavill Avenue. Having restaurants, bars and a supermarket downstairs was a bonus, but on certain nights of the week, be prepared for noise from revellers - could be an issue on the lower floors; wasn't too bad on level 18. Really close to regular bus services in all directions, and close to plenty of car hire options - recommend you book hire cars in advance. 5 mins short walk to the beach. We had an awesome family holiday, and would love to stay there again.

Room Tip: Recommend higher floors for better views and less noise.

We are a family with 3 kids & enjoy staying here every year. Kids love the lagoon pool. I love the indoor heated pool. Great BBQ area. Coles supermarket underneath to buy groceries from. Only 2 blocks from the beach.

We got a great package deal for a reception managed apartment and due to the Trip Advisor reviews werent entirely sure what to expect.
We were in a 2 bdrm 1 bathroom apartment on the 16th floor of Tower Three with fabulous balcony views overlooking the Beaches in the Sky pool, spa and BBQ area. We loved the central location - no need for a car whilst we were based in Surfers - downstairs to the supermarket, takeaways, restaurants and the beach all close by. We were happy with our apartment, comfortable beds and reasonably modern decor. Some minor improvements could occur - the bathroom door needed fixing, but still worked, the water in the shower was quite hard, and we heard music from the room next door and traffic on the road/highways (even with the windows shut) but we would definitely stay here again if we return to Surfers.

This is the second time we have stayed at the Towers. The first was booked on the Stayz website direct through the apartment owner. The unit as spotless and in great condition. The owner even supplied us with laundry detergent, washing powder, milk, extra cots, extra linen and towels, beach towels. It really felt like a home away from home. However this time around we found the 2 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment just OK. We booked through an on line agency. The carpets were filthy with black blotches everywhere, felt like we had to wear thongs around the place. The walls in all rooms were also badly scuffed. The furniture was very well worn. The balcony floor could do with a good wash. We only had 2 forks in the cutlery drawer so had to purchase some down stairs at Coles. Reception forgot to give us some free food vouchers which were included in the deal, they also forgot to mention we could book for additional nights at the same special rate.
All in all it was a pleasant stay, we were on the 10th floor, ocean views, river views and the air conditioning was working well. the beds were comfortable.THe lagoon pool area with the BBQ area was always kept clean and available.
Would stay again but would definately book direct with an apartment owner.

Stayed in a two bedroom apartment. Was ok, kitchen and bedrooms good. Carpet was dirty, could be replaced. Great location in centre of suffers paradise. We checked in late after reception was closed. No problem everything was waiting for us with easy instructions. Indoor pool needed to be heated more for the middle of winter.
