Kupari Boutique Apartments
Reviewed 5 January 2014

I would definitely stay at the Kupari Boutique Apartments again. A group of 4 of us stayed there for 7 nights - Phil the manager was great. He was extremely friendly and helpful.

Our room had beautiful ocean views with plenty of room for the 4 of us and also a kitchen which had everything you needed to cook a meal. The apartment was extremely clean and well presented. The pool was also lovely to lay by when you didn't feel like getting sandy at the beach!

The location itself was perfect, we were 1 minute from the beach and a short walk to all the shops and local attractions.

For the last six years we have stayed at Kupari for 9 weeks through July and August each year and have already booked again for next year. We find the one bedroom apartment to be excellent for our requirements. The very affordable pricing enables us to stay for that length of time. It is spacious and comfortable and very well located with the beach, the shops and the bus stop within easy walking distance. The manager, Phil Brown, is friendly and helpful. For us, it is a home away from home.

I had done an extensive research on most available accommodations in Surfers Paradise and Kupari stood out by the reviews of fellow travelers. So I took a chance and went ahead by booking it directly at their website which offered the same prices as TA, Agoda, etc.

Prior to arrival, I had contacted Kupari pertaining to my early arrival and departure and Phil Brown (Manager) responded pretty quickly.

Upon arrival, he was very warm and friendly. Provided useful information on how I can do a early check out, means of public transportation around Gold Coast, to and from the various theme parks and also where to shop for groceries.

As I had booked a 1 Bedroom Apartment, once inside, I went around looking at the amenities provided and was amazed at its cleanliness and the items we had to use for our stay. The coolest was the utensils provided for the Kitchen. Pots, pans, etc and etc. We did encountered some teething issues but nothing Phil could handle and the next day he had fixed it all!

A short walking distance to the right of Kupari, there is a convenience store for most basic needs. You can walk to Cavill Ave which is about 10 minutes or less. Alternatively, you can walk via Ocean Ave to the bus stop. From there two stops and you're at Cavill Ave. Also on opposite side of the road, you can take a couple of buses to the theme parks, Harbour Town, etc. Highly convenient.

With all the above, in my honest opinion, I recommend Kupari Boutique Apartments for your stay in Surfers Paradise.

Amenities in apartment is fully complete kitchen facilities as in our own house which comfortably suitable for 3 person. Rate wise if you could contact the hotel is cheaper than what is offered in the web. It is 10 min nice walk to surfer paradise town area which have night market on Wednesday and Friday. Bus stop to parks and train station to Brisbane is very near by. By train to Brisbane is around 1 hour. Traveling in the city by public bus and train suggest to buy the Go Card which is convenience.

Room Tip: Request for higher floor with beach view

This is an excellent option for a family with young kids. It is very well located to the main beach and only a short walk from the main shopping precinct (500m). We booked a 2 room apartment for us and our two children - one 20 months old and the other 6 weeks. I was worried about the balcony and keeping the 20 month old safe - but there was a lock up very high so he couldn't get out (the windows were also secure).

The apartment itself was LARGE and well appointed. The kitchen was nice and the living space was away from the second bed room. There were two bathrooms which were roomy and very clean.

The building is old and not at all flash - but it is very clean and tidy and the pool has recently been renovated making it a really nice private place to hang out and relax.

One standout 'feature' of this hotel was the manager. He could not have been more welcoming and helpful.

For the area this is a well priced hotel. It is not fancy, but is clean, well located, well appointed and welcoming of families.

Room Tip: We had room 17 - really good with great views.

Ive now stayed at the Kupari some 5 or 6 times for an annual work trip. I have already booked it again for 2014! This accommodation is older in years and lacks some of the modern polish some folks may want but its pluses far outweigh its perceived lack of gloss. To me, it feels like home away from home and that is a relief from the usual small pokey hotel rooms. Its location is great - close to all amenities, the beach, the restaurants, the conference centres....great to see the sea and hear the ocean. The apartments are well equipped, including full kitchens and laundry facilities, allowing easy self catering when staying for a few days (hotel and restaurant meals can get tiresome and it is great to be able to do your own laundry). They are clean apartments. There are only a small number of rooms which makes the place feel cosier. The service from Phil and Evelyn is always friendly, down to earth, reliable and without pretence. THE VALUE FOR MONEY IS EXCELLENT. My only crticism would be that the showers are admittedly dated and lack good water pressure (but they are clean). Not a major, given the long list of positives. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Room Tip: Id ask for higher floors (ie 3rd to 5th) and a suite facing the beach to ensure best outlook. They...

As the title says, a pretty decent and spacious apartment located centrally in Surfers paradise, with all the basic amenities for the price you pay. Though the apartment has aged quite a bit, and a little rough around the edges, it was to be expected as they charge considerably lower than 4 star properties around. It was a short stroll to the beach as well. It was a shame tht we couldnt get an ocean view property, as it looked beautiful even through restricted view apartment.

The manager, Phil was quite helpful with our queries and late checkout request. All in all, it served the purpose for us, keep in mind its a budget hotel, so dont expect anything flashy. If you want to save a dollar and still be close to everything, this is the place!

Room Tip: Try to get the Ocean view apartments.
