“Nothing to commend this place- go elsewhere!”
Reviewed 24 January 2010

This place relies on being in a prime tourist location.

At one time, you could rely on location in Surfers Paradise to run a successful restaurant.

Today, expectations of customers are higher, and other restauranteurs are successfully fulfilling those demands.

Daniel's does not offer anything to commend it. The food is ordinary, the service inconsistent, and you are in a lacklustre upstairs location.

Stay away from here!

“Nice change from typical Surfers Paradise restaurant”
Reviewed 3 October 2009

This 2nd floor restaurant was a nice change from the typical cramped bustling streetside cafe style restaurant in Surfers. We ate in the ala Carte side and all of us had steak. The wagyu was excellent and a reasonable price ($40/200g) although other beef cuts weren't as good. One order was significantly undercooked which I think is unforgiveable for a dedicated steakhouse. Side vegetables were uninspired but this seems common in steakhouses. Heavy Japanese influences obviously but we didn't try the seafood or tepanyaki. We did enjoy our meal though.

“Surperb”
Reviewed 21 July 2009

We had booked into the Holiday Inn on Surfers for 2 nights and were out walking looking for somewhere to eat.

We came accross Daniels Steakhouse, their menu is at street level with the restaurant up one or two floors via a small lift/stairs. The Restaurant is a large space and well lit with attentive staff, we decided to have steak, Wagyu for the hubby and Sirlion for me, well sorry but words could not express the sheer joy, both cooked to prefection, hubby's said his wagyu was the best he ever tasted ( apparently the Wagyu cattle exist on a diet of grains and beer and are given regular massages). We were also given a free bottle of wine which was unexpected. We enjoyed it so much that we decided to return the following evening. Wagyu again for hubby and Tenderloin for me, again heaven on earth.

The restaurant on both evenings was not very busy which was a shame with the excellent food on offer

Would recommend this restuarant and a bit thank you for making Surfers Paradise even more enjoyable.

“Teppanyaki Secret in Surfers Paradise”
Reviewed 9 May 2008

We stayed @ The Moroccan in Surfers and across the road whe could see a teppanyaki chef on the second floor of this building. Deciding ot check it out we were more than surprised to see he was only practicing and they had no bookings so far. Forgot to say the Japanese resturant is called New Daniel's Steakhouse & Teppanyaki.

We started with an assortment of oysters to share and a whole lobster sashimi each, as the place was empty they put on a free bootle of wine for us wich was more than a nice surprise. The weird thing is the place is split into a teppanyaki room and the rest of the place is a western style a la carte room. Drinks were cheap and a good range of Japanese beers and spirits.

We hada set teppanyaki seafood course after the lobster and oysters which was divine. This place seems one of those secret places not shared much as we were the only non Japanese in the place by the time we left. Was cool as we spent close to 2 hours and there was no rush to get us out.
