Reviewed 21 October 2012 via mobile

My wife and I stayed here with 2 kids(13 and 9) for 8 nights starting on the Indy weekend. We had apartment 24 which is a 2 bedroom on the 1st floor overlooking the (heated) pool. The unit has a good size living area with a balcony with a table and 4 chairs looking directly over the pool, so you can watch the kids. Good sized bedrooms(main has ensuite) and another bathroom with washing machine and dryer. Also another separate toilet. It's located about halfway between the casino and Cavill Ave but there are a few restaurants, bowling and surf club within easy walking distance. The beach is also close by. I could easily stay here again.

I would recommend this hotel anytime as the staff, Sue and her husband were extremely helpful with transport arrngements, luggage, suggestions for sight seeing and other needs. I was staying there with my elderly mother and they treated us like royalty.

We are a family of 3 adults & 1 child, stayed for the Christmas holidays of 2011. The owners gave us a great price for 1 week . This was our first time to travel on vacation and they were very helpful in giving directions on good spots and best time to go. Room service was supposed to be every week but when we asked for extra towels & rugs, they were more than willing to assist even if it was only our 3rd day. The BBQ area really made Christmas day enjoyable and memorable as we celebrated and had the poolside to ourselves. Real value for your money when all other places are charging for the moon.
Thanks Sue and John for a fantastic stay.

Stayed for a few nights in one of the top floor units and could not fault this unit. Very clean and and all the modern amenities.Close to all the restaurants and Jupiters .Walking distance to the beach .What more could you wish for

Room Tip: If you want a quieter stay I suggest asking for room high and away from the pool

Our family of 3 stayed at Surfers Tropique 12th Oct - 12th Nov 2011. Overall couldnt fault the apartment, little more detail to cleaning would be an advantage but then im a cleaning freak. Due to our long vacation we had room service f/o/c each week of clean bedding & linen, the owners were very polite, helpful and hospitable would do anything to assist. The pool is small but clean and my daughter aged 10 was most content. The complex is small but very neat, tidy and quiet, its great for the beach, shops and the attraction parks. Great underground parking and even offered us a spare car park place as we had to purchase a vehicle due to relocating. The Gold Coast was great but not for young children. We have now relocated to Brisbane and still visit the G/Coast and hope to have a happy future as residents here in Australian. Would definately recommend Surfers Tropique no problem.

Room Tip: We were on the ground floor, no problem at all.

The owner was fantastic and gave us a great price for the 2 nights we stayed. The apartment was spacious and had all the amentities required however even though not dirty it doesn't appear well maintained and could do with a good scrub and spring clean.
The secure underground car park and fob access into building gave piece of mind. Our balcony overlooked the pool/spa/BBQ area which was fantastic. Was in a great location away from the bustle of Surfers but close to the beach.

My husband, 4 year old and 8 month old stayed in this hotel for one night and were appalled by how filthy our room was. The lighting was so dim, it seemed as though they were trying to hide the dirt. None of the doors or windows opened on to the balconies on either side so it was suffocating. The bathrooms were filthy, brown marks in the bath and jandals/flip flops/thongs were a necessity when showering. The rangehood was dripping with grease and weevil dirt. My husband opened the dishwasher and almost passed out from the stench. The dryer didn't work so we had the use of the one in the next room, which was to our surprise a lot cleaner but still not perfect (wonder why we got a dirty room?). I couldn't believe they would rent this room to people with children, or any human for that matter. I would not put a dog in this room. I have travelled to 3rd world countries and stayed in accommodation costing 1/10th the price and they were much cleaner than this hovel. On checking out we politely requested a discount for the unclean room and were told 'No'. Extremely poor customer service. Avoid like the plague.
