“Worth a visit”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 April 2014

We weren't expecting much from this museum, but were quite impressed. Our teen girls were interested in the Frock Stars exhibit, but we all found so much more of interest, from the informative Pandora displays to the cyclone experience. There were plenty of interactive exhibits to help entertain kids + a good variety of special activities for the school holidays.

“Fantastic New Exhibits”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 January 2014

We were pleasantly surprised at the high quality of the new exhibits at this Museum. The robotic dinosaurs were incredibly realistic and very interesting. Our grandchildren were very excited and captivated to see these creatures moving about. They loved the dinosaur's nest with babies hatching from the eggs. The Cyclones of North Queensland exhibit showed photos and videos of the largest cyclones to cross the North Queensland coast over the last 100 years. We found the rainforest playground to be hugely entertaining. The kids had fun going down the twisting tubular slide and pressing all the buttons to locate rainforest animals in their natural habitat. On the top floor there were interactive displays of sea creatures. It's really worth the visit and the airconditioning provided a great escape from the tropical North Queensland heat. There is a small coffee shop if you're looking for a quick snack.

“Good for a rainy day”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 January 2014

I decided to visit the museum as Townsville does not have much to do. They had a wide range of things to look at. It was not an amazing experience but it filled in some time on a dull day.

“Lots to see and do”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 November 2013

We loved visiting this museum and had a great time viewing the exhibits - especially like all the dinosaurs. It took us about two hours to get through and we then headed out to check out Reef HQ. A great way to spend an afternoon and learn more about North Queensland and the Great Barrier Reef.
