Excellent location and super good rates. Free parking and free wifi. Totally awesome. Would happily stay here again. Great comfort through and through. Nothing to fault.. Would happily recommend to anyone. By the way, the pool is also very good.

We got a good deal for the accommodation & enjoyed our stay in a 2BDR apartment. It is a well fitted out, modern apartment including things like a washing machine & tumble dryer. It was mostly clean and the complex itself seems fairly quiet. There is some construction going on but it wasn't too noisy. There was worse noise from the wind whistling through the complex or the washing machine going in the next apartment. The pool was tiny, although we could access the larger pool in the Q Holborn resort next door. Biggest downfall is that these apartments are a short drive away from everything of interest. There isn't even a restaurant within walking distance at the moment.

The apartments are clean and fresh (aside from some sugar on the couch!). The prices was very reasonable. The receptionist on one shift was somewhat brusque but the one on another shift was very helpful. It is a bit of a hike (by foot) to anything, but the bus goes right by. The street itself it s a bit dodgy. I would stay here again.

Went to Townsville City for a drive from Cairns then decided to stay for 2 nights. This apartment / accommodation was good for me because I was going solo plus it has white wares like dryer, washing machine, huge fridge, etc. The room was big enough for me and even for 2 people. The word "resorts" might mislead people - there is no resort at all in this accommodation. The pool was small but did not worry me at all. Will be good for travellers like me who just want a space and time for self. Its a few minutes drive to the strand.... Not for families I reckon (who has small kids).

Reasonable Price!!!!

Stayed for fourteen nights and was impressed at the rate for the one bedroom apartment. It was a good size with a separate bedroom and a balcony. There was basic essentials on arrival and the kitchen had what I needed. Reception is hidden, when you get in to the car park off the main road, drive down to the end (towards the river) of the Holborn building and its on your right.
The construction did not bother me as I worked all day but when they started early I had the balcony door closed and you could hardly hear it. As for the trains, its not as bad as reviews I read, anyway what's so offensive about the distant sound of a train?
Housekeeping was okay, no issues to complain about. No stairs involved if you are carrying luggage from your car, easy lift access.
I would absolutely stay here again. Oh and the bed was comfortable.
Room 26 is on the sixth floor and did not face the construction sites.

Room Tip: Room 26 on level 6 was good as it did not directly face the construction. It was the middle apartmen...

My family and I have stayed at Q Resorts Kensington twice over the past few months. On the first stay we had a one bedroom apartment and on the second stay a two bedroom apartment.

Reception for the property is locate on the ground floor of the neighbouring Holborn Apartments. The property is new, clean, well appointed, very reasonably priced and has a swimming pool for cooling off after a hot, tropical day. They also offer secure car parking at no additional charge.

The apartments are fully self contained. The kitchen is full sized and equipped with a reasonable range of cooking implements, crockery, glassware and all the other things you might need to cook a meal.

All of the bedrooms had air conditioning, a ceiling fan, a queen sized bed and built in wardrobes. In the two bedroom apartment the main bedroom has an en-suite and the second bedroom had two king single beds. The beds are comfortable.

The apartment also has a small laundry equipped with a washing machine and dryer. Q Resorts provide washing powder and dishwasher powder as well, so you don't have to go out and buy any.

The apartment location is walking distance to the Townsville CBD and there is a cafe and gym accross the road.

Reception for the property is locate on the ground floor of the neighbouring Holborn Apartments.

We found the staff at reception to be friendly and helpful. On both occassions we had to extend our stay and these requests were handled professionally.

We paid around $AU100 per night for multi night stays. Bookings were made directly with Q Resorts over the internet.

I highly recommend Q Resorts Kensington.

Room Tip: There is some construction work going on next door but the work occurs during the day. I didn't...

I am reviewing this from the amazing price we got for 2 nights, $138 total.
This was for the Hotel room, it would actually be the 2nd bedroom to the dual key apartments. Therefore, the room is probably not as big as a main bedroom in your own home. However, as I said, for the price it cannot be beaten and if you want something new, and don`t spend too much time in your room it is perfect.
The building is very new, there is another apartment block being built next door, and I suspect this is why the price is so cheap. We stayed on a weekend, with the building site being closed so definitely no noise issue for us.
The queen size bed is lovely and comfy with great pillows. Very nicely decorated room, the bathroom is quite a reasonable size with a large shower only. There is a large bar fridge in the cupboard, which I suspect would just be a wardrobe only in other circumstances..so very short hanging room above the fridge. There is a desk built in with one chair.
If staying for more than 1 or 2 nights definitely upgrade to the 1 bedroom as there is virtually no room for suitcases, no balcony and nowhere to hang your beach towels.
If the Hotel decides to up the price when the building nextdoor is finished they must look at 1) putting a shelf in the shower for soap etc., 2) provide a bigger bin than the tiny bathroom bin, 3) provide at least another towel rail in the bathroom..apart from these 3 negatives which are really quite small in the scheme of things all is great for the price.
The complex itself is in a quiet part of Townsville, very little around it, but only a 10 minute walk into the actual heart of the city. You would probably need a car from here to the supermarket.
The pool is smallish but lovely. The building is very clean and fresh.
There is a terrific cafe directly opposite, within the carparking complex. Their hours are very generous and have an all day breakfast menu..lovely.
All in all a wonderful place to stay in Townsville, but if you do want that extra room book the 1 bedroom apartment!!

Room Tip: Choose the 1 bedroom for extra space.
