Bedarra island was absolute heaven. We had four days for our honeymoon. Sam and John and jimmy and ken and all the girls we just amazing and always willing to go that extra mile to accommodate your every need. Private boat trips to you own beach with a gourmet picnic hamper was amazing. The water was beautiful. The food was amazing and it was great to have the chefs on hand to talk to about their wonderful creations. Johns ale bread was delicious. I am going to miss that! Sam was also a fantastic doing anything and everything!! For a honeymoon I couldn't recommend a better place...no jet lag, great weather, great food and drinks, friendly staff and pure private relaxation. Just beautiful.

Room Tip: Villa 14 had a great aspect and it's own plunge pool while not being the most expensive room on...

No doubt, the most friendly place we have never been in Australia

We went into others very beautiful hotels in Australia which were very great… but the Bedarra Island resort is the best place if you don’t want to be in impersonal hotel complexes and if you really do love luxury hotels.

The place is wonderfulI and they do everthing to make you happy and make your stay unforgottable!!!

I don’t have enough words to say how the manager is amazing and did everything to make us spend a good time!!!

The island itself is heaven, maybe the best place in the world in order to relax.

What is really different than the others luxury resorts is that, for the price you pay, you have your great villa with plunge pool with an amzing view on the sea, and after, you have to pay.... nothing!!!!the bar is self service(very good wines, beers softs...), the breakfast, lunch and dinner are... included too! included, and not only good, they really are amazing!!! I was really surprised to have such good food there too. the chief is really talented and the dishes were served with honnestly really good wines.

They pay attention to every details to make you happy, for exemple they give you a drink menu in order to put in your minibar your favourite wines spirits and soft drinks.

Thank you very much Bedarra team for making our stay unforgettable

If you go in Australia you MUST go to this hotel!

The place is amazing and the experience is the best in the GBR.
The rooms are simply perfect with your own plunge pool, tv room and outside lounge.
The resort feels like your own private island with the enough luxuries to have a great beach retreat.

To not enjoy the amazing experience that is a stay a Bedarra island is to miss the point of what this little corner of paradise is all about.

Sam's words echo in my mind still from our first intro to the island.

"Think of Bedarra as your own holiday house with the addition of my team who will do all the things that you wish you didn't have to do "

Simply put, no cooking, cleaning or washing up. All you need to do is relax.

If you want silver service, formal staff who are supposed to cater to your every need , but in reality leave you waiting and stranded for the simple things such as a glass of wine, followed by "Bill shock" on check out, go somewhere else.

Sam and his Mrs who sat down and asked themselves the question " what would we like from a resort" have got it so amazingly right it's a sheer joy.

The comprehensively and lovingly stocked bar is a self service affair. Included in the price of a nights stay are hand picked wines which go beyond our local standard wines and the normal Kiwi affairs. There is French sav blanc and some gems in the bar that drip with class and subtle tastes. A premium selection of beers and spirits are also included, with more expensive drops at reasonable prices if you want to push the boat out.

The bar I liken to being given access to your parents drinks cabinet and wine rack yet this time you have full permission to enjoy its fruits without recrimination.

The breakfast, lunch and dinner ( all included ) are gourmet. No choosy menu, but even with pre stated dietary needs the cuisine never fails to impress. That's right no choice!!! But when you smile as each mouthful is clever yet not stupidly fussy and makes such unexpected sense, who wants to be saddled with the choice of a menu that often leaves one with dish envy that what your partner or the next table ordered may have been better.

Having finished a delightful Tuna Nicoise, I note my wine glass is empty and I fancy a little more to eat. No waiting here. I can get up walk 5 meters to the bar area fill mine and my beloved's glass, shuffle over to the kitchen fridge, grab a ready assembled cheese plate and be back at our table in minutes.

To think that the staff are not attentive would be a grave underestimation. Having mentioned in passing my fiancé and I were going to make ourselves a quick G&T before dinner, we became so ensconced in conversation with fellow guests I forgot to make the aforementioned drinks. As if by magic Eliza sidles up to the bar beside us and within 2 minutes mixes and presents us with two perfectly blended Gin and Tonics. She doesn't even say a word. Now that's love.

Fancy time on the crystal blue waters? No problem, chef will prepare a gourmet picnic chuck, in a bottle of wine, then you can grab one of Bedarra's motorized tinnies and head for one or all of the nearby island's beaches.

The rooms are well appointed, the bed is comfy and the oversized pillows are a delight. Before you arrive on the island you are provided with a drinks menu so that your minibar in the room is stocked with your preference of wine and favourite, spirits and soft drinks.

The options and list of inclusions run from private chalet plunge pools to yoga matts in the closet. To say they are comprehensive is rather conservative.

In summary Bedarra is best described with another word that shares it's first letter. BLISS.

Thank you so much to the team for making our stay and the place we got engaged so very special.

After a week back in "civilization" it is time to share my views on what is so special about Bedarra Island Resort. Having recently spent 6 nights on Bedarra, I now realise what a "real" holiday is about, and by that I mean one where you actually return home with a sense of calm and peace. While not disputing the excitement of exploring new countres and cities, you often return home needing a holiday to recover, but Bedarra immediately puts you into a state of relaxation that is hard to imagine until you experience it. Whether you are active and explore surrounding islands with a picnic basket packed with goodies, or sit under a tree and read, or sleep, the choice is yours and is is more than acceptable to do absolutely nothing, if that is what you desire. Fine food, wonderful wines (always available) and attentive, but never overbearing staff add elegance to an already sublime setting. The beautful people who run Bedarra Island Resort will do all they can do make your stay memorable, but in the end, the island and resort itself will hypnotise you, providing long lasting memories that will linger, I have no doubt, for many years to come.

Room Tip: With only seven secluded "bungalows", all rooms will offer you a wonderful experience.

To all "Yanks," this experience is extraordinary. So many of us love St. Barth's, Anguilla, and other beautiful Caribbean islands. Bedarra defines privacy and luxury unlike most of us can find closer to home. As one who loves food and great wines, it's as if one has a private chef and sommelier at every meal. I could go on forever but there is no point. I've spent time on another Great Barrier Reef island, a regular on St. Barth's, many vacations on beautiful Caribbean islands...nothing compares. This is a special place. As long as the trip is, we hope to go again next year. We hope to take our entire family at some point.

Room Tip: Villas #15 and #16 are the most private, particularly #16. Beautiful contemporary architecture and i...

Stayed here for 4 nights for our 10th wedding anniversary in late September 2013. This is a beautiful island. The refurbished resort is wonderful and we were impressed by the resorts commitment to sustainability by replacing the generators and desal plant with solar and spring water. Limiting the guests to 14 max at any one time also ensures that the resort never feels busy, even when it is at capacity. Our favourite activities on the island were paddle boarding (with turtles) off the main beach, taking a dingy out for the day to explore adjacent islands and snorkelling on the local reefs. Sitting here now waiting for the water taxi to take us home.......I really don't want to go.
