My wife and I spent three nights on Green Island. The resort is excellent - very clean, large, and attractive rooms, with excellent service. There is only one restaurant, but it is quite good - especially for breakfast, which is included in the room fee. Snorkeling is good, especially at the end of the jetty. Diving (novice level near the resort) was also good, and we really enjoyed the dive master. The only negative is the large number of day-trippers that descend on the island during the day, but it's easy to escape at the pool, etc. located within the resort grounds. The island is small, so three nights was just right for us.

My wife and I booked three nights at Green Island and were impressed by the quality of the accommodation, beauty of the island, excellent service and the magnificent snorkelling experience just off the private beach. In fact we saw more fish and turtles than our day trip on the outer reef. Snorkelling equipment is available on demand. Service is excellent and always cheerful.
The rooms are large, well-appointed and very private.
The island has many day visitors which add to the experience however the resort is designed for maximum privacy and in any case all day visitors leave by 4pm leaving guests behind to enjoy the island overnight. There are daily fish feeding and educational night tours. The only restaurant on the island is excellent but can get a bit monotonous for long stays as there is no other option on the island, not to mention quite expensive.
Breakfast was included and was both plentiful and varied
We are committed to returning soon

Had a wonderful 3 nights at this fantastic resort. The service was great, the rooms and facilities were very well maintained and all activities were included in the price. Loved the fish feeding, sunset drinks and nature walk. The food in the restaurant was great quality and value for money. While there are quite a few day trippers who visit the island, resort facilities are for house guests only and there is plenty of beach and snorkelling space for everyone. Enjoyed the glass bottom boat and Marineland Melanesia - awesome crocs and aquariums with a great croc show by very knowledgeable and friendly staff member, Brad. Best of all was the fantastic snorkelling - a huge array of marine life literally metres from yr room. So great being able to safely snorkel with turtles, rays, huge fish and large schools of fish as many times as you like during the day. A great experience and great value for money. Rooms are very private and the king sized bed was great. We will definitely be going back.

We had the glorious opportunity to stay on this secluded island paradise to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. Such a romantic, wonderful place. We loved every minute of our stay here. I couldn't imagine a more beautiful resort to spend our special celebration.
This lovely piece of paradise off the Great Barrier Reef is only a 50 minute cruise from Cairns. While the cruise from the city is beautiful in itself, you lose your breath when you see this gorgeous emerald island rise from the middle of the sea, surrounded by some of the most beautiful blue seas I have ever seen. There is a lot of activity on the little dock during the day but you lose track of the day tripper tourists very fast after you become mesmerized by the countless sea turtles and beautiful fish that are so abundant.
We stayed in the Reef Suite and it sits in the middle of the rainforest and it offered a view of the leeward side of the island. The rooms were large, gorgeous, private, clean and so romantic. Champagne on ice was ready when we got there. Service was exceptional. We loved that snorkel gear was available to the guests. We stayed here during low season and with only 25% capacity, so it truly felt like we owned the island. Green Island belonged to us during those magical three days.
Green Island has so much to offer, natural rainforest, national park, phenomenal snorkeling off the sand and it is also home to the largest crocodile in captivity housed at Marineland Melanesia. The snorkeling was phenomenal off the island, but we also did an excursion to the Great Barrier Reef that the hotel easily arranged. We loved the educational walkways and nature viewing on the island. The crocodile habitat at Marineland Melanesia was incredible. Guests gave free access and we went to visit Cassius and the other crocs everyday. The staff are so knowledgeable and the daily feeding shows are fierce! Definitely do not miss a visit to this incredible crocodile sanctuary.
We were fortunate to plan a special celebration dinner on the beach during one night of our stay here. We booked several months in advance and it was one of the best meals of our life. They set you up on a private beach with white linen and candles. A breathtaking sunset view sets the stage for an incredible meal. They only allow one party per night the opportunity to experience this marvelous meal... Expensive yes, but the memories and the meal was priceless.$$ The feast was a delectable seafood platter, cold and hot, including prawns, scallops, lobster, oysters, calamari, coral reef crab and a desert plate that had a variety of delicious decadence. Definitely one of our best dining experiences ever. Highly recommended to celebrate a special occasion, you won't be disappointed.
On the other nights we had dinner at the resort restaurant one night and it was very good with excellent service. The last night of our stay we decided on a beach picnic basket that they elegantly delivered along with everything you would need for a romantic picnic on the beach. The star gazing at night is spectacular. The bright stars and falling stars were like dazzling diamonds I. The sky. We also participated in the resort nighttime nature walk with one of the staff rangers. This was very informative and we saw a great many night time critters on land and in the sea that were to apparent during the day.
Green Island holds a special place in our hearts. We hope many other travelers can experience this private island paradise. Honeymooners, couples, families and travelers of all ages will find something special about Green Island.

Room Tip: The Reef Suite was wonderful.
