“Christmas 2013 Lunch Review”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 December 2013

Firstly, Cruise Whitsunday's who ferried us to our dream lunch in style, were very friendly welcoming and professional.

On arrival at the restaurant, the table and waiter / waitress staff at Daydream Island were simply wonderful - great sense of humour and a genuine credit to the company.

The food 11 out of 10 - stunning array of choice - superb, so fresh, so tasty! The only criticism, the oyster shucker needed an assistant. Still it was a nice touch and a great example of the freshness and presentation of the seafood. The management and other staff throughout the resort were very friendly and welcoming. Yes we will be back and absolutely recommend a Christmas lunch at Daydream!

Food was way over priced , terrible sewage smells early in the morning and had to ask for gym to be opened up numerous times.
But the swimming was excellent at Lovers Cove and the nature was fantastic.

Room Tip: Higher rooms may not encounter small sand noise.

Daydream was a beautiful family experience. The dedication of the staff was noteworthy. Our 3 children enjoyed spending time with a particular activities attendant, Claire, who bravely jumped into the shark tank to collect the mini golf balls. Let's just say, it was a great mini golf experience for the whole family. What a woman! Will definitely be back!

We just had a 5 night stay on Daydream with our family (mum and dad and 2 kids aged 14 and 5). We had read some reviews on Trip Advisor that were a but negative but we went with an open mind. We could not say enough positive things about the resort! The staff were unfailingly positive and helpful, the rooms clean and spacious (and we had an amazing view from our balcony). The cockatoos will come into your room if you leave the doors open but we were well warned. The kangaroos and curlews that roamed around were a delight to watch. From landing on Hamton Island through to getting to our room on arrival was a smooth process. Out kids loved the water sports on offer and the outdoor cinema was a highlight. The food was always delicious with prices on par with decent restaurants in the capital cities. We heeded the advice to bring snacks for the kids so after tucking in to a buffet breakfast, they just needed a few snacks until a 5.30pm dinner. The swim up pool bar was a favourite for me and I sampled some of the delicious cocktails on offer! The Reef Ranger program was a massive hit with the kids. Go to Lovers Cove for a wonderful sunset at least once on your trip. We had the professional photos done and they turned our really well -the grandparents are getting copies for Christmas! We would live to bring our extended families up to the island for a holiday next year. It is an absolutely beautiful location, it wasn't overly busy (which we loved) and provided us with a relaxing, fun holiday. Thank you to the staff who do their very best to make sure the holiday is perfect. We would go back in a heartbeat!!!

We just spent 7 nights at the wonderful Daydream Island, the island is beautiful, staff were fantastic and very helpful always polite. We received a beautiful shell necklace on arrival. We highly recommend people who are looking for a fabulous holiday either relaxing by the pool or should I say many pools or doing all the activities they provide. We put our 3 yr old son into Skippers a child minding place for a few hrs and he loved it, he got to feed the fish play putt putt golf many many fun things.. Must not forget the Day Spa it was just heaven all us girls received wonderful pampering it was very rejuvating. Water sports were brilliant. Feeding tropical fish while swimming at lovers cove.... That is a must. FANTASTIC HOLIDAY. If you haven't been to the Whitsundays Daydream Island is the place to go.

Room Tip: We had a family coral ocean view room just brilliant, the kids had their own queen beds each and bat...

We have just come back from 5 days on this beautiful Island with our 9&12 year olds. I was very hesitant after reading various reviews on here but was very pleasantly surprised.
Check in done at Hamilton island airport could not off been easier.
From the moment you cruise into Daydream and receive a shell necklace and get an arrival photo taken you instantly relax.
While you take time to familiarise yourself with the lay out of the island you can have a pool side drink at the swim up bar.
The are so many activities to do, many are free some with small surcharges but well worth it. Mini golf for $25 for a family of four was lots of fun.
Snorkelling at lovers cove is a must!! As it is stinger season it is recommended to wear a stinger suit which is provided with the snorkel hire. At a cost of $100 for a family of four it seemed a bit steep but we rented the gear at 930 am one morning and didn't have to return it until 4pm the following afternoon so we could do this at our leisure. It is great for kids as you can be in knee deep water and have hundreds of tropical fish surrounding you.
Food was a bit of a concern before going. We took snacks so we weren't constantly buying morning and afternoon tea so I would defiantly recommend doing that. For dinner for us we found mermaids to be the best option. Food is beautiful most nights costing us between $140-$160 a night including 3 courses, kids meals, desserts and drinks. They also do a good take away menu for lunch.
Drinks at the bar are what you would expect on an island we budgeted for this though and I would suggest to others to do the same ($6-$7 for beers, same for wine slightly higher for spirits)
The outdoor cinema is a must a great experience seeing a movie under the stars.
The living reef is amazing with so many different marine life in the lagoon our kids had a great one trying to find the various animals on our way though the resort. You can also do behind the scene tours our kids did sting ray splash and loved it.
This is our first time on the Whitsunday Islands and I must say it was a great introduction. We are already talking about long back.

Room Tip: We stayed in an ocean view room overlooking the marina. It was lovely and sort of in the middle of t...
