“A treasure like no other”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 October 2013

We spent 3 nights at Paradise Bay and they were 3 of the best vacation days we have ever experienced. Paradise Bay provided the opportunity to actually relax on a vacation, which doesn't always happen on vacations. This secluded treasure really allowed for one to let go of all cares and truly be in the moment and take in the beauty of the islands. The real gem of Paradise Bay is its staff. Sophie and Todd were truly fantastic - warm, welcoming, and great attention to detail. Victor's food was outstanding and my stomach longs for meals like the ones we had at Paradise Bay. We had such a wonderful time at Paradise Bay with the staff and despite living on the other side of the world, we most definitely know that we will go back - it is truly like no other resort.

We spent four nights at Paradise Bay and had an amazing time we would highly recommend this resort to our friends and family. The Resort is laid out beautifully, overlooking the water. There was plenty of space in our rooms and we did not feel cramped. The food was out of this world, we loved every meal we ate. We highly recommend the chocolate muffins. The Staff at Paradise Bay looked after us and were always there to assist us and to make our honeymoon truly memorable and nothing was too much trouble for them. Todd and Sophie were the best hosts and made us feel completely at home. Victor offered us some amazing dinners. Cheryl's spa treatments were very relaxing and a perfect part of our day as well as our Yoga class.

We spent 8 days on Paradise Bay around mid August this year and had the most fabulous time there. The location itself is obviously stunning. The bay is extremely quiet, with close to no boats passing by. The island has just been refurbished to a very good quality standard and features only 10 bungalows (ours was very comfortable). Note that this place is all about relaxing, so there is no tv, no radio, no internet and no mobile or blackberry signal. However there is plenty to do there. We did several day trips by boats and really enjoyed the beauty of the Whitsunday islands. We also enjoyed all the activity at Paradise Bay itself, whether on sea (we kayaked with whales, saw turtles, dugongs, manta rays, sharks etc.) or on land (with the cutest wallabies, the curlews, goannas, wild turkeys, cuckatoos, the sea eagle and the countless unnamed birds of the rainforest around us). All that being said, the quality of the staff is what really made our stay outstanding. We are used to high end hotels and resorts, but service on the island was simply better than everything we had experienced. Great care and attention were given to us and we were simply pampered from beginning to end. Food was also superb and the two chefs never failed to amaze us. We were even given very fun one on one cooking lessons. Finally, given the resort is just being remarketed, there were actually very few guests and actually had the island for the two of us for a few days, which basically meant we rented a private island with 5 staff for 2 people at the price of a bungalow... Overall Paradise Bay is a wonderful resort and I have urged people around me to put this place on top of their lists. You should do the same...

Room Tip: All the bungalows are similarly furnished and share the same view

We were the first guests to enjoy the new Paradise Bay. Having read the review of the 18 th June I wholeheartedly agree. This is a "get away from it all" location ,and yes , there really is no internet. We had the whole place to ourselves although the maximum of 20 people would hardly be a crowd. Apart from the beauty and the exciting boat trip , there was the outstanding cuisine from the very talented Todd and the hospitality and attentiveness of Sophie. Nothing was too much trouble. They really understand service and the food was
higher than Masterchef standard , chosen with your individual food preferences in mind and presented exquisitely. Cheryl relaxed us with her wonderful massages and I also tried the yoga which was so calming by the sea. A never forget holiday

Paradise Bay is so very aptly named - it is indeed heavenly there. This is an exclusive resort and the only way in is by helicopter - and that's exciting, itself! The manager/hosts Todd and Sophie are supremely suited to this job and are warm, welcoming and friendly. The guests are made to feel indulged and special from the first moment they step off the helicopter and the experience begins as it will go on when we are greeted by Sophie with refreshing towels and Moet champagne.
The resort has been closed for some time for renovations and we were among the very first guests to arrive since it re-opened. Nestled with it's back to dense forest and facing a peaceful cove, the resort bungalows, central pavilion and new pool deck are all beautifully appointed - making them all feel indulgent, but comfortable.
Todd is in charge of the food and shows he really knows his stuff. He specialises in offering the very freshest of everything presented simply and cleanly, allowing the flavours to shine through. His meals are nothing short of exquisite.
While not a trained sommelier, Sophie knows her way around a vineyard extremely well and the wines she pairs with Todd's food are just perfect. Much like everything else about this place, really.
With almost no phone coverage and no wifi, this is the ideal escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and a couple of days of Cheryl's massage and poolside morning yoga sessions, combined with the food, wine and warmth of Sophie and Todd should see any stressed out A Type's blood pressure begin to go down.
I can't wait to get back there.

What a place where you meet the best people, food and accommodation that I've been for a long time. With the new pool in place you truly have the peace and solitude that you look for in an island paradise. My wife and I will surly return to enjoy the experience once
