“Do Not miss this beach if you're in the Whitsundays!!!”
Reviewed 14 January 2008

This beach is unbelievably beautiful. The water is clear and pristine...an amazing turquoise color. Pictures do not do it justice. The sand is soft and white and almost as fine as powder.

We took a day tour with Fantasea, sailing out of Hamilton Island in November of 2007. It takes about 30 minutes or so to sail from Hamilton Island to Whitehaven beach. If you take this tour, be sure and use the restrooms before you get off the ship because the ship anchors further out into the water and they use a small motorized platform-like structure (not sure what you call it) to transfer groups of people from the boat to the beach and the beach has no facilities.

There is a place closeby Whitehaven Beach called Hill Inlet. It is supposed to be another gorgeous beach area with sand hills and we thought we'd be able to walk to it, but it's a bit of a walk from Whitehaven Beach and since Fantasea only allows you 3 hours on the beach before you sail back, there's not enough time to walk to Hill Inlet and back.

If you can work it out, I think it would be best to charter a boat, sail to Whitehaven, go around to Hill Inlet, and spend as much time as you want in each location.

Whitehaven Beach was so beautiful, we didn't want to leave. If you are in the Whitsunday Islands area, DO NOT miss this experience!!!

“Loved Whitehaven Beach”

In May 2005, took boat out of Airlie Beach. Absolutely loved the tranquility, beauty, clean water and awesome white silica sand! I highly recommend and plan to return!

“Postcard Perfect”
Reviewed 31 January 2006

This is the beach you have dreamt about. Perfect silica sand that stretches on for miles, beautiful crystal blue water and large enough that it is does not seem crowded.

We did a day sail to Whitehaven from Long Island and spent a few hours at the beach. Wish we could have stayed longer.

A Must Visit!

“A must do”
Reviewed 3 January 2006

This is one of the best beaches I have ever been to. The water is crystal clear and the sand is so soft, you just want to cover yourself in it, even as an adult
