Tjis is my third stay at the Intercontinental and I will be back. It is located on North Terrace and looks out over the parklands , the river Torrens and the Adelaide Oval Mecca to cricket lovers. We booked for a week for the December cricket Tess with SA and were rewarded by having the SA team in house which added to the atmosphere. The hotel is located right by the rail statio and tram to Glenelg and about 2 blocks from Rundle Mall e excellent shopping mall for Adelaide. To the north you are right on the river with over 13 km of paths all the way to the sea in one direction and through parkland to the Botannical Gardens in the other. The pool is outdoors and ok, but not quite at resort standard. The folk in the hotel exude an easy friendly Australian attitude, and are professional in all they do. The espresso coffees are excellent. They will make a breakfast of your choosing or have an excellent buffet. Our room looked out over the parklands and cricket oval to the Adelaide hills.. just a beautiful view. The room was a little tired, but the old red marble lined bathroom is sensational for the red marble alone. Hopefully any refurbishment will not remove the marble. Ask for parkland view. This is a great hotel and will start refurbishment to get to plus 5 stars.
