Just spent a week in this well-located hotel in central Adelaide. Located between Rundle Mall and North Terrace in the East End of the city, it's in an old building that now serves several purposes as well as the hotel.

The apartment was a good size, with a separate bedroom, dining area, kitchenette, separate bathroom and living area.

The decor is tired and the place needs doing up. However, even a few touches like some extra powerpoints and table or floor lamps in the living area would make a difference. Being able to plug a lamp or computer in without having to unplug either the heating or TV - it's that desparate.

The plumbing was a bit dodgy - I had to request someone to come and stop my toilet cistern running constantly, and the taps and fittings leak. The bed is soft, probably being a bit old and tired like the rest of the decor.

Noise was an issue - on Friday and Saturday nights, the hoons of Adelaide could be heard carousing and screeching their tyres a couple of floors below on the street, and early morning aircraft arrivals woke me more than once. Double glazing and fixing the old doors and windows would help.

The receeption staff were friendly and helpful, if not knowledgeable about their city. There was no room makeup service on Sunday, which is fine if only they had told me before Sunday afternoon, as I'd been hoping for new towels (a trip to reception could have furnished new ones, but I was too tired to be bothered so made do).

Overall, a reasonably comfortable stay in a great location at a very reasonable price, that could be improved with a few simple touches.

There is no mention on any of the advertising that the rooms are over the top of a night club, We spent two sleepless nights at this establisment all the drunken louts yahooing at 3am when the club closed and all you hear when you put your head on the pillow is BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM from the music, you can hear the lyrics three floors away, when I mentioned it to the the receptionist about how loud it was her reply "REALLY"

To say this facilty is a 3.5 star is a stretch of the highest order. We had 2 different apartments when we were there for 12 days. Both apartments were filthly. The carpets, and flooring generally were beyond dirty, we found coackroches in bathrooms, air conditioning leaked continously into the room and beds were of poor quality. The facilty is in an excellent location but needs to be closed down and totally gutted. Its surprising that the Adelaide Tourist bureau allows this place to be open...........unbelievable. The unfortunate part is we couldn't locate another apartment in the area as it was summer and completely booked and my wife was working short term at University of Adelaide which was in vicinity....the only thing that saved us was weather was hot and sunny every day so we ate out most days returning basically to sleep only......

Herritage styled building but nicely renovated inside. Located at just opposite at Target, very convenient location, could easily walk to everywhere. Backpath links to David Jones, Rundle Mall. Stayed at an executive 1 bedroom apartment, spacious room. Recommend to select executive room if you wish to have a bath tub.

The one and only thing this hotel has going for it is location.

The carpets felt as though they were in desperate need of a thorough cleaning (we wore our flip flops around the room because we were so grossed out). The linoleum in the kitchenette was pock-marked with black and was warped. The grout in the bathroom had definitely seen better days, and we refused to sit on the couches due to mystery stains. The parking was a pain due to the lot being about a block away from the hotel.

Find somewhere else to stay, you won’t have missed anything.
