“This hotel gets an A in SA!”

I love this hotel. In fact would go so far as to say its one of the better hotels I've stayed at on a business trip this last couple of years.
Fast friendly checkins, upgraded to spa suite (which is huge).
Well appointed rooms, fast FREE wi-fi and a comfortable bed. The breakfasts are reasonably priced and they make great coffee.
Will be a regular here for certain.

Room Tip: The rooms are great on all floors. Request an upgrade they may well oblige you

We chose this hotel because of its location relative to the arcades and restaurants. The hotel is an easy taxi ride from the airport. Our room was clean and comfortable. We had a pleasant five night stay that included an overnight trip to Kangaroo Island. We chose to use public transportation most of the time so we could get a better feel for the city that included a tram ride to spend the afternoon at Gleneig. We found Adelaide easy to navigate unless a taxi was needed late in the afternoon.

This is the third time I have stayed here and it will be the last. A business trip followed by a weekend of visiting Adelaide - my husband and I booked in for 4 nights. The bathroom was not properly cleaned. I had a bath on the first night and then noticed it had not been cleaned on the third night. There was a musty smell in the reception and smokers congregate outside the entrance. The bed was a bit hard. Noisy neighbours woke us up on the first night. TV a bit old and small. Good points - position is great.

Pros: Modern and new-looking hotel (both outside & inside), friendly staff, the bathroom is huge (same size as the hotel room), bathroom comes with separate spa bathtub and shower box, bathroom amenities are branded (French Connection/FCUK), has gym and indoor pool facilities.

Cons: Major problem #1 - the bathroom:
1) the bathroom sink has no recognizable faucet (it was a rusty tube the size of a mini milkshake straw)
2) there was no water pressure from the "faucet" (water would dribble out exactly like a bad drinking fountain - how are you supposed to do anything with it?)
3) design flaw with the faucet - the handles can be "overturned" - if you don't turn it to exactly the perfect spot, the water will continue to flow (big waste of water for a city that is trying to conserve water!)
4) design flaw with the shower box - the water pressure is too strong and will leak out all over the bathroom floor if you don't stand exactly at the perfect spot in front of the shower head
5) I question the cleanliness - the bathroom floor looked like someone cleaned it with a greasy mop

Major problem #2 - security: on the second day of our stay, my husband forgot his room key when he went out. On his way back, he told the check-in desk and after asking for his room number, they handed him a room key without even asking for his name or any proof of ID! That could have been any stranger from the street, and I feel this is a serious breach of security.

Although on the map it looks (and is) fairly close to Rundle Street, the immediate block surrounding the hotel is quite dead. The hotel also claims to do laundry much cheaper than other hotels (one load of 10 items max for AU$25, ie. $2.5 per item). I had high hopes for such a new and modern hotel but as they say "looks can be deceiving" - everything looked great until I actually spent time in the hotel room.

Stayed at this hotel for two nights during a business trip. The location is superb - smack bang in the middle of the city. Room was comfortable and clean and had a balcony (although sadly I could only see a giant ANZ logo from it). The TVs in the room were small, and the images were slightly blurry. The speed of the (purchased) internet connection was also quite slow despite being advertised as 'super fast'. Bathroom was nice - marble with spa bath. Had room service for both dinner and breakfast, prices were reasonable and service relatively quick. No surprises in menu or food quality. Overall, the stay was good, but I think I prefer the InterContinental when in Adelaide.

My wife & I stayed at the Rendezvous for two nights on the 15th & 16th February to celebrate my 70th birthday. We found the room to be very good with just a couple of minor cleanliness items that would have made the room perfect. We ate at the restaurant on the Friday night which was excellent. The waiting staff were very good & the food excellent. On the Saturday (my birthday) we thought we would have a drink at the bar downstairs about lunchtime but there were no staff to be seen. The concierge rounded someone up for us & some ten minutes later one staff member arrived. The whole weekend experience could have been better with a little more training of staff to be more friendly. Compliments to Paul Bowes in the restaurant & to Adam forth the Concierge Manager. Whilst this review may seem a little critical I would still recommend staying at this hotel.

Room was gorgeous, clean and spacious. Breakfast was fabulous with a ton of selection. Hotel was near restaurants, the Uni and walking distance to the river and botanical gardens. Highly recommended! We also used the conference room. Staff helpful and attentive
