“second stay”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 July 2014

We stayed here a few weeks ago when we went to the football and our stay was faultless. Our room was lovely as was the service and breakfast and the room only cost us $80. We stayed here this weekend being the 5th july and we were so disapointed. The room cost us $95 and it was only a few weeks ago we stayed there. When we went to our room there was an odd smell and it was so tiny. The bed was so small and we were a bit disapointed that the bathroom was not in our room but out side 2 doors down. Our main worry was when we came back to our room after a night out about 12:30 am the room was so cold and we couldnt warm it up. We were freezing and by 5 am we were getting dressed and ready to leave. We had left by 5:30 am to go home I left a note and the key at the front desk. We do not feel we got $95 worth and feel a bit ripped off but as we had stayed there in the past we thought it would be the same.

Room Tip: make sure you ask if the bathroom is IN the room!

James. We are sorry that you did not enjoy your second stay with us on what was the coldest night of the year so far. On both occasions you had reserved a Budget Double Room. Paying $90 for your stay on 15th May and $95 for your stay on 5th July. Due to room demand and the lead time for your reservation rates do change.
As a result of room availability your stay on the 15th May was upgraded to a deluxe room which should have been advised to you when you arrived. These rooms are usually only $10 to $15 more and have the ensuite bathroom and queen size beds. In both cases the description of the room you reserved clearly states that there is a separate private bathroom and that is why they are possibly the cheapest double rooms available for a stay in North Adelaide.
We do hope that you decide to stay with us again and recommend visiting our web site for full descriptions of room types and reservations without any booking fee.

Really nice little place. Great service, free parking out the back, free continental breakfast. Was a quick 10 min walk away from the Adelaide Oval where we were going to watch the footy. The concierge (who I assume was the manager) was friendly and helpful. Would definitely go again.

Clean, comfortable, convenient, free parking, simple but healthy and adequate breakfast, helpful, friendly staff. Great base for exploring Adelaide and easy walk to many good restaurants close by. Good coffee shop just around the corner and free bus to city. Yes a few grungy bits but at the price is very good value. If this building was fully restored and fitted out to match then the tariff would be double! A reviewer complained about the noise of the planes - well this applies to every CBD Adelaide hotel. There is a guest laundry and irons readily available.

For the price we paid, and central location, this provides value for money. However, I was kept awake by people on the top floor moving a lot through the night, and as we're not used to noise of aircraft, being in the direct line of flights coming into and leaving Adelaide, I found it wasn't a peaceful night's rest for us. If you're not expecting five-star accommodation (décor in our rooms very dated), this Motel has a lot going for it. The park opposite is fabulous for children. I felt like I was staying with relatives, so friendly and helpful was the stand-in manager. This place has a homely feel. Building has plenty of character, loved the staircase.

Room Tip: our room was downstairs, unfortunately we had a lot of noise from people staying on first floor.

Staying at the Princes Lodge was a real pleasure, very comfortable, and managed by helpful people. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay, and couldn't really find fault for the price. I would highly recommend to anybody looking for a pleasant weekend in Adelaide.

We booked this hotel, for the weekend we went to soundwave and couldn't have been happier with our choice, it had a very antique feel, very homey and the rooms were massive and exceptionally clean. Also it was a short bus ride into Central Adelaide, extremely good value for money, would stay again
