2 bedrooms for 3 nights.

Excellent: Day tours with Prime Mini Tours. Can’t go wrong with them. Both Barossa and Hahndorf tours were excellent. Across the street from the Convention Center.

Good: bed, balcony, kitchen, drawer dishwasher. Close to the mall and Casino. Walkable to the Botanical Gardens and Wine Center.

OK: Cluttered. Too much furniture for the space (6 chairs for a small dining table). Normal wear and tear on carpets and furnishings in room. Elevators always smelled of something (beer, chlorine, take away, stale booze, etc.). Staff tries to be helpful. Lots of partying outside the hotel.

Bad: When booking they never replied to several emails about availability so I had to call them. 3 hangers total were found in 2 closets. In the reference book it says to call housekeeping for hangars and pillows so I called and was immediately advised that no extra hangars or pillows were available. Went to Woollies and bought my own hangers. Bedroom TV had no remote and could not be worked. Shower reeked of mildew (dissipated after use). Combo washer/dryer took forever to dry anything (good thing I bought hangers).

Hotel is adequate if you are prepared in advance. If you want TLC stay at the Stanford down the street.

The oaks horizons was in a good spot on North Avenue and check in was smooth despite us being a little early. The one bedroom apartment was quite spacious and the decor was modern and welcoming.

When we needed them, reception were helpful but not overly friendly. Most of the time we walked by the reception desk it was unattended and on one occassion when we did want to ask something we stood there for 5 minutes and no one came so we gave up and went back a few hours later.

Kitchen was well equipped, and loung room quite spacious. The balcony was large but we didn't go out there much, it was cold and it looked directly into the adjoining hotel so didn't hold much appeal.

Taxi from the airport cost between $15-20 dollars but there is a shuttle which may be better to and from the airport. Train station is very close and the free circuit bus stop is right in front of the hotel.

Very central location, on North Avenue. Just next to Oaks Embassy Hotel, opposite Conference centre, and 10 mins walk from main mall area.
Accommodation - two bedroomed apt, second bedroom reasonably small. Kitchenette small but reasonably well equipped, with dishwasher, oven, and hob. Cleaning materials provided on daily basis. Apt modern, relatively clean (carpets with a bit of wear and tear). Only gripe was that the partition between main bedroom and bathroom is a sliding glass door without any curtains!
Reception staff courteous but not particularly friendly.
Our apt overlooked North Avenue, may be noisy in summer. Some apts may be facing adjacent office blocks; which are very close. Oaks Embassy has no tall buildings adjacent, so may be an option for others.

I had a last minute chance to visit Adelaide for a work conference and used NeedItNow to look for somewhere reasonably priced. The Oaks Horizons was just what I needed: close to the conference and close to the heart of the city. I got a supersaver deal on a 1 bedroom apartment and was upgraded to a 2 bedroom apartment on check-in. If I needed to stay in Adelaide for work for a month or two, I'd have been happy to be here. Lots of room and the bathroom and kitchen have everything you need, including a washing machine/clothes dryer and dish washer. The bathroom was bigger than my own at home, and the living area was big enough that you could comfortably host a small dinner party (if the mood took you). There's a bus stop right outside the door on North Terrace, and Rundle Mall is less than five minutes walk away. The service was low-key but efficient, and I'll definitely think of staying here again.
