“Perfect for short stay in Adelaide”
Reviewed 20 December 2013 via mobile

Very centrally located close to the main shopping mall this is the perfect place for a short stay in Adelaide.
Fairly large rooms with nice bathrooms including bath tuband shower, valet service for your car if needed close to the museums of the citya good choice for a short stay in Adelaide. Checking-in may be slow but the temperature down thre can be quite high and above 40 celsius...

We stayed at this hotel, for one night for our staff Christmas party.

firstly the hotel is very good value!

Check in was prompt and quick, the front counter staff were very friendly.

Room - Deluxe - Was sooooo spacious, it had an enclosed balcony, a big bed and still heaps of room to move. The bathroom also had a Big Bath Tub.

Location is great, in the East End of Adelaide, you can just walk out and have breakfast on the street.

I will stay here again as it met all of our expectations.

This hotel was chosen because of the positive reviews. We stayed for over a week recently and the reception on arrival was good I believe we had just had the misfortune to experience the worst taxi driver in Australia not just Adelaide. We were given a room which is designed for disabled, which was a positive start as it had a large shower, we prefer not to bath. The outside of the windows on the small winter garden/balcony were very dirty, we were offered a different room and indeed looked at 2 alternatives with Gino who is very helpful but having discovered that all the windows were in the same state we decided to stay where we were, thinking this was the best choice.
As we had arrived late afternoon we went out to see the city, this was our third visit and we like Adelaide and the people very much.
On our return to the hotel we realised that there was nowhere to put anything in the bathroom no shelves or cupboards so we moved a bench from the bedroom to accommodate our toilet bags etc. we then discovered that the chair at the desk had a broken back. In the morning whilst taking a shower we found that the shower head and water pressure were very good but the drainage and the levels were all wrong so the water did not run away quickly enough the whole bathroom floor soon became flooded, we mopped it up with towels but that left us without enough to dry ourselves. We of course reported these faults to reception where Daniel was very helpful and requested more towels for the next day. On our return the second day we found that the ice bucket from the previous night was left, the chair was still broken but we had been left more bath towels, we mentioned the chair again at reception and this time Daniel came and exchanged it himself but told us it was checked and reported as mended by maintenance as was the drain. The next morning the shower still did not drain but this time we had 'dammed' it with towels.
The saga continued most nights we ordered ice in a bucket and most mornings it was not cleared by housekeeping. The final event which was most annoying happened on day 5 on our return the plunger coffee maker was left half full of coffee, another ice bucket was left also the air-conditioning did not work properly the temperature was quite chilly during our visit so we needed to heat the room 2 buttons were missing on the control and it continued to reset itself to 22 degrees but we had managed to heat the room, not sure which combination of buttons were required when we entered the room it was cold as the air-con was switched off. As it was late we reported these the next morning to the duty manager Amy and she offered us a different room!!! after 6 days of reporting issues this was not good enough.
There is free Wi-Fi throughout the rooms and hotel which at first appears to be very good but it doesn't work properly it is very slow and one has to re-log in every single time it is used which is very frustrating.
The large TV has a terrible picture quality and there is no programme menu to help you find a channel it is a question of running through every one until one you favour appears. It is a great shame to be writing a review like this but it is necessary, as often happens the housekeeping is letting down the hotel and I reiterate Daniel and Gino were extremely helpful and efficient. When we finally checked out we had accumulated 4 ice buckets.
I would urge the management to look at the issues as the central location is excellent for so much in Adelaide.

We landed in Adelaide after several hours of flight and we couldn't find a better place to rest and enjoy the city.
Our room was really big with a wonderful king size bed, very clean and with very nice design,
The staff at the reception does always of his best to help and make your stay unforgettable.
It worths to tell this short story: While i was visiting the wine museum i forgot my sunglasses there. I was re-planning the whole daily city sightseeing but the receptionist offered himself to pick up my sunglasses for me since the museum was on his way to home.
I strongly recommend this place!

I have stayed here before in a larger room, may have been an executive room and I raved about it - this time though the room was really ordinary. The bathroom was large but absolutely zero vanity space!!! Just a single sink. I had to take the chair from the desk into the bathroom just to have somewhere to put my toiletry bag ! Surely some sort of stand or cupboard could be put in there to at least give some space or a shelf?? The blow dryer had to go either on the floor or in the sink - both of which seemed dangerous - just seemed like a really basic omission and made getting organized for the day much harder than it needed to be

We stayed for one night. The hotel is modern, clean and in a premium location right around the corner from Rundle Mall. The room had a huge TV and the bathroom was oversized, something we personally prefer.

The bed was very comfortable and the room quiet, which made for a relaxed stay. So comfortable in fact, that we overslept the 11am checkout! The staff were very understanding and accommodating though. During our brief stay, all of the staff were first class, which is a credit to them and their management.

We would definitely stay here again when we come to Adelaide and highly recommend the hotel.

Dear Brett G,

Thank you for your kind words and feedback on your recent stay with us. It is a pleasure to hear your praise for our team and the service they provided and I will be sure to pass your feedback to the teams directly.

We are fortunate to have such a wonderful location in Adelaide which is so close to all the East End has to offer - I hope you had an opportunity to experience it first hand. And just as fortunate that when the Hotel was designed there was a focus on having a spacious and luxurious bathroom for our guests to enjoy.

Thank you for your recommendation and we hope to see you again soon.

Regards,
Michael Collis

We stayed for 3 nights and can only repeat all the good comments.
We also hired a car and with hotel parking at $16 per day was the best solution especially if you are coming and going. Wilson’s car-park opposite was very expensive and would have cost a lot more.
We went to Cibo for breakfast [lots of healthy options eg fruit salad, yoghurt and GF muesli] – turn left from hotel, cross the crossing and café in front. Hotel breakfast expensive and you had to pay extra for coffee/tea [$30].
Room large, clean and free wifi. Small gym with walker/stepper/bike and weights. Small rooftop balcony.
The hotel doesn’t have any tourist leaflets or maps but the staff are very helpful, professional and friendly.
Enjoyable stay.

Dear MSK085,

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your stay with us. I am glad to read that overall, you had an enjoyable stay with us and that you found our Hotel comfortable. I am disappointed to read that you did not find our breakfast to be to your liking but I see that you found an alternative option in nearby Rundle Street. I would like to think we have a number of options for guests to enjoy at Breakfast including a variety of healthy options but I do also recognise that price can be a consideration at times.

We have a 24 hour concierge service at the Hotel where a member of the team would be more than happy to assist with any tour or activity advice and will ensure a booking is secured on your behalf, with brochures available upon request.

I hope that next time you visit Adelaide you will consider returning to us.

Regards,
Michael Collis
