This is one of those rare Gems still giving great service, great food, such good rooms and the wine and food again, someone has got it right. If you are a new visitor to adelaide or not , this Hotel is situated in a fantastic location.. close to zoo, the mall, museums, art gallery, everything all in a short trip by transport system. So many people often enjoy the room and food at the majestic as much as their visit to Adelaide. VERY HARD TO BEAT.

Room Tip: Rooms are much the same location wise, how ever a few rooms have a lot more than standard if you are...

The bottom line up front is that the Majestic Roof Garden is located close to many restaurants and attractions, has very competent and friendly staff, features well-appointed rooms with great bathrooms, and has a lovely rooftop terrace which we used twice. This will suit your business and leisure needs.

We stayed at this hotel based on the strong TA reviews, and also because of its location which is close to Adelaide's northern ring road (lots of great museums, attractions and restaurants along that strip). Generally speaking, if you are staying within Adelaide proper, any hotel is well-located because the part of central Adelaide that is surrounded by parks is not that large (a square kilometre, I think?) As far as the northeast quadrant goes, you cannot do better than the Majestic Roof Garden. The hotel is clean, fairly minimalist in design and tone, and noise levels were certainly quite good on the upper levels, where we stayed.

All staff were friendly and efficient, with the front desk staff printing up various attraction tickets and other items for us, and the concierge giving us valuable tips on where to go. Our requests to bring up cutlery and wine glasses to our room were granted promptly, and the effectiveness of the cleaning staff leaves nothing to be desired.

As for our room itself, it was of average size and featured a comfortable bed and a fairly impressive bathroom with an oversized bathtub. I do recall briefly falling asleep in the tub, which is not something that I can easily do in most tubs, although this was after a long day of wine tasting in the McLaren Vale, so all can be forgiven. Our room was facing east, so we had a reasonably unobstructed view of the mountains east of Adelaide, though one does not necessarily come to this hotel for truly scenic views.

A nice feature of this hotel is the rooftop terrace, which was not all that busy the two times we went upstairs to check it out. On one evening, we were able to bring up our pizza (from a nearby restaurant) and a bottle of wine and enjoy a nice evening, almost completely uninterrupted.

Overall, this was probably the second best hotel of our month-long trip to Australia, and I would recommend the Majestic Roof Garden to anyone without hesitation.

Room Tip: Rooms on the eastern side of the hotel have a better view (mountains, more nature). Ask for a room...

Recently spent a few days in Adelaide after a trip to the Barossa Valley. Stayed at this hotel as reviews seemed overall positive and it was in a nice location.

Concierge was attentive. We used the valet service which was $30 a day.

The room was nicely furnished. There was a balcony which faced the multi level carpark opposite the road. Lights from the car park were somewhat annoying as you could see a bit from the ends of the drawn curtains.

Would have preferred a spa in the room but it was just a bath, and quite a small one. The shower was huge though.

No slippers were provided. We had slippers when we stayed at Novotel in Barossa. It's just a small detail which makes you feel more at home during the stay.

Location of the hotel was great! We walked to Adelaide Zoo, which only took 15mins. It is minutes to Rundle Mall. Chinatown took around 20-25mins walk which is still not too bad.

We had dinner on one of the nights and was very impressed! Wait staff very attentive and friendly. I'm surprised there are so little reviews on this restaurant, as we had a very positive experience.

House keeping is a bit late as other reviewers have mentioned. We went out in the morning and got back after lunch, so 1-2pm, and the room still wasn't done.

The roof top garden is nothing to write home about. I expected more plants and flowers. It did have a small fish pond which provided a bit of amusement while we were waiting for house keeping to finding tidying the room.

Overall, a positive experience, though I would probably try a different hotel to stay at next time we visit Adelaide.

I have stayed here twice over the last 2 months. The rooms are excellent, great service overall, great breakfast. On the top floor there are several well appointed conference rooms.
There are heaps of great restaurants and coffee shops within a short walk. Great for business and training sessions, etc.
But...., On both visits I have walked up to the bar for a nightcap when things were quiet, the staff have not acknowledged my presence. Even though I stood right in front of them they continued writing or punching the keyboard for some time, there was no "I'll be with you in a minute" no eye contact, no smile,...... no tip. Memo to all bar staff: Smile + eye contact = tip.

We would highly recommend the accommodation at the Majestic Roof Garden Hotel. Everything was immaculate, stylish and comfortable. The location is great - just around the corner from a street of modern cafes, restaurants, cinemas and shops and near to cultural locations including the Art Gallery and Festival Centre. The hotel restaurant serves an excellent buffet breakfast in a modern setting. We would not hesitate to stay again..

We recently took 25 of our top staff to Adelaide for a staff retreat and stayed in this hotel. This hotel really lives up to the reviews. Excellent location only a short few steps from the main shopping and restaurant street. Lovely clean upgraded facilities, friendly staff, great value for money. This is a high quality 4 star hotel.function room facilities and service were also excellent. Highly recommend for business functions

We stayed in the Majestic Roof Garden Hotel for 3 nights in July 2014. The desk staff were friendly and efficient and the lobby is well kept. Our room faced the street (the face of the building) and looked into the multi-storey carpark opposite. The net curtain did a suitable job of providing privacy. We had a balcony, but as it lacked any furniture we wondered what the point was - perhaps it was for smokers? Perhaps not as there was no ashtray. The room as well proportioned and came with a lovely bath and a sliding door / window setup that allowed the you sit in the bath and speak with someone on the bed, or to watch the tv. However this arrangement turned out to be inconvenient as the opaque glass meant that a trip to the bathroom in the night was incomplete without filling the entire room with light from the bathroom.

Housekeeping was thorough, but very late. Each day we went out and came back after lunch time. In every case the room was still to be made up. This was disappointing. Although they were happy to provide us fresh towels and toiletries ad hoc. Toiletries appeared to be cheap and of poor quality.

The breakfast was great: Varied and plentiful. Good choice for vegetarians. It was a joy to come down each morning.

As we were flying out of the country late in the evening, we asked if it was possible to have a late check-out and that we were willing to pay, eg. a half day or so. We were offered an extra hour at no charge (allowing us to check out at 12pm rather than 11am). If we wanted to stay until 6pm we'd have to pay for another day at rack rate which translated to a very steep $350! This would have essentially doubled the cost of our entire stay!!

On a final note, it would have been a nice touch if the hotel provided a complimentary bottle of water in the rooms. Location is very central, close to restaurants etc, but think we will give this one a miss next time and try another hotel in the area.
