Nothing annoys me faster in a so-called 'quality' hotel than unnecessary cheapness - like not providing hand towels, and only one facecloth for two guests, or exactly 3 instant coffee sachets, 3 tea bags, stingy and inadequate milk for coffee and tea making etc. Injunctions in the bathroom about water and power usage when the shower has a drip are also irritating.

So I was annoyed at this hotel from the start. The bed was hard, the room layout peculiar and not particularly user friendly, and the promised 'fridge' was stuffed full of minibar merchandise, so of very little use to us.

My husband just picked up a piece of broken wine glass from the carpet on his side of the bed too - great housekeeping!

Guest noise is a problem with both the sound of doors being slammed at all hours and thin walls meaning we could hear the bloke next door snoring (not very loudly but perfectly clearly, as if he was in the same room as us.) The airconditioning was way too noisy and cold to use all night, and there was mechanical noise like a compressor which ran until late evening too, coming from outside the room.

Other than the broken glass, the room was clean enough and the decor not too dated. Concierge staff were helpful. Luggage has to be dragged up a front flight of stairs even to the ground floor, and there are no lifts inside if you are staying on higher floors.

Appears to cater to sports fans and business people, rather than couples on holidays. Not the worst hotel I've stayed in on this trip, but not exactly a luxurious or welcoming experience, so if you're planning a special trip to Adelaide for you and your beloved, I'd go somewhere else.

We enjoyed everything except we could not get ABC TV most of the time. Other than that everything was great. Especially happy friendly service. And the location is the best in Adelaide. Walking distance from everything worth seeing in adelaide and posts to do straight out the door.

Room Tip: We were on ground floor and it was fine.

hotel is very good value, very nicely laid out rooms with very good linen. good size fridge, and tea making facilities. lovely people at reception and extremely helpful.
beware that the free Wifi offered is only for half an hour, this was the only slight against our stay. as my daughter was booked into the Calvary hospital this hotel offered a nice place to stay with in walking distance of the hospital. theres a really good healthy IGA just across the road, here you can obtain a selection of soups, salads, cheeses, and the usual items of an IGA. really enjoyed my two nights. there is off street parking as well.

I stayed overnight for a concert at the Adelaide entertainment centre , which was sort of close but still took about 5 mins to drive there , great location if you are going to the new Adelaide footy ovals as it is very close! also It is in walking distance from the rundle mall. But the actual stay was OK , when we first walked in and made our way to our room we saw that the hallways are very out-dated (we stayed on the ground floor) , then when we got into the room it was OK it had a TV , the bathroom appeared clean , in the photos it looks like the rooms have balcony's but they actually don't! the rooms were a bit out-dated , it also had a air-con , we spent most of our day at rundle mall and when we got back the air-con wouldn't turn on! which was a pain! , we had dinner at the restaurant which is in the hotel , the meal was quite nice! We went to our concert and got back about 10:30 that night , the beds were nice to sleep in and overall we had a good sleep it just would of been nice to have to the air-con going! we checked out the next day as it was a nice one night stay , I wouldn't stay here for a week though as the rooms are quite small but overall a great place for a one night stay over!

Room Tip: I would stay on the ground floor as there was no lift.

Stayed overnight 16th April room 114 it was ok the was comfortable as the room faced O'Connell street I thought it might be noisy but it wasn't 't. The bathroom is adequate and good hot wafted and pressure. It is an older style hotel but for the location it was good. The only down fall was the bin in my room had not been emptied of the soft drink can from the mini bar and a person's receipt. Would stay again.
