Walking along Rundle Mall, the Beehive Building is a feature that you cannot walk past without looking upwards. The building exhibits many features of Victorian architecture but the Turret with the Beehive on top and the Golden Bee at the summit is a joy to behold. The building may not be as famous as The Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco or The Opera House in Sydney but it is quite rightly an Iconic Sight in Adelaide. Plus, neither of the other Landmarks mentioned have the superb Haigh's Chocolate Shop beneath.

This building is so nice and it's in such a central location. It's fascinating - the architecture is beautiful, lovely stonework and the gargoyle is a bumble bee ... it's certainly unique and an easy landmark to get your bearings when you're still unfamiliar with the city streets. Very nice to see.

Beehive corner stands like a beacon at the intersection of Rundle, King William and Hindley Streets.
It is a permanent reminder that Adelaide has class, style and of course history. If you were in any doubt then pop into Haighs Chocolate Shop for a sample of Australias (and possibly the worlds) best chocolate.
Beehive Corner Building is what Adelaide is all about. Take your time and enjoy!

When you walk past it, you cant hlp but stop and look at it. It comes from an era when architecture was so much more than big tall glass buildings. Adelaide has a variety of interesting old buildings and this is just one of them.

Those of you visiting from out of town or not from around here should know that within this location lies Australia's best chocolatier, Haigh's. They sell a very diverse range of chocolate products and chocolate gift ideas and have the nicest staff within the CBD. The building is on the North West corner of Rundle Mall and King William St and is in the heart of the city. It is accessible via the tram from Glenelg or the Entertainment Centre (Casino area) and has easy access from the major CBD hotels.
