“Good burger...not best!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 April 2014 via mobile

Another visit to one of Adelaide's many new burger joints.

Tucked away in the east end, it seemed a little more 'commercial' than I anticipated, seeing it had come from burger van roots.

The menu is simple and 'compact'.

I had the beef #1 & fries.

The burger was good, not the best I've had. Simple with good ingredients. Was a little oily, not sure if that is normal. Fries were nice but no sauce or other condiment.

I can picture this place being popular 2am on a Friday or Saturday.

Check out my other burger joint reviews on what I think is the best in Adelaide.

“Definately not the best burger in town”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 March 2014 via mobile

I ordered their monthly special burger and it was almost raw and the whole taste was not nice. I dont know if it was because of their sauce they use or the onions. It was not tasty at all. Nevertheless the Fries are all right, but i would never pay $11 for this burger.

“Very tasty, very cool joint, excellent staff... but too expensive for the product.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 March 2014

Burger Theory got started around Adelaide in a truck, run by young graffiti loving guys trying to deliver a quality classic American style burger... At least that's how I saw their intentions. And they succeed, undoubtedly they know how to make a darn tasty basic burger.

It almost tastes like McDonald's, but has better quality ingredients like crispy and sweet bread top buns, local beef from the Coorong and salad that has never been frozen. But it's about 5x the price of McDonald's, about 3 times the wait and ony about 1.5 times the size. So I left wanting more, but being too cash conscious to buy more.

I disagree with the other review that says the burger was overly salty, maybe it was an off day for them? The beef is done medium to medium-rare, but it's quality beef so I wouldn't be scared, it makes it taste more intricate.

“Salty, greasy - leaves you feeling sick”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 February 2014 via mobile

I had such high hopes for Burger Theory. The signage reminded me of Shake Shack in NYC. The burgers did not. The first bite was bearable, the bun was nice and the meat was juicy. I then realised that the meat was well under medium and the potent salt taste kept coming and coming. I actually thought someone had accidentally dropped the whole salt container in the meat. I adore salt and add it to everything but this salt taste was ridiculous! I was left thirsty, sick and with a much lighter wallet. Avoid - Adelaide has amazing food, don't waste your time here.
