“Excellent service & food”
Reviewed 3 May 2014

We were not disappointed! Amazing food and great tastes with service to match. Very friendly and attentive staff. Not cheap but what you'd expect to pay for quality Japanese food. We will be back.

“Hidden iron chef”
Reviewed 5 April 2014

Kenji delivered on every level - service, food, wine, timing and quantity; the food providing multiple taste pleasures from basic ingredients. To gain most from the dining, it is recommended to indulge in the tasting options listed in the menu. Waiting staff are happy to explain and assist with menu selections.

The cost per person for our meal ran close to $100 for four courses and wine with the main courses provided a substantial amount of food. So although not cheap (cheap was not expected) the meal provided a high quality event.

Our meal was taken on a Tuesday evening with other patrons to approximately 80% of table capacity. I would therefore recommend booking ahead a fine food experience. The patrons appeared to be an eclectic mix of couples, families, friends and business people with the acoustics being favourable for conversation.

“Not great, over priced and produce not freshest”
Reviewed 22 March 2014 via mobile

First time to Adelaide and we chose this restaurant after consulting trip advisor. We decided on the 6 course degustation $96/head which showcases their more popular dishes. Our first course was nice although it didn't seem to be as freshly made as other Japanese restaurants we have dined in. Venison carpaccio was nice but it lacked a little seasoning. When our meal of cod with scampi arrived we were disappointed as the small piece of cod was dry and overcooked and when we tried the scampi it had a severely strong ammonia taste and was off. We alerted the staff who were most apologetic but could not accept the food was not fresh. We asked the owner to smell the scampi and she would know exactly what we talking about. We requested no more food come out as we were turned off. They were good in bringing a sorbet to cleanse our palate and shouted us a drink but we were disappointed that our first meal in Adelaide had been such a bad experience.

“consistent excellence”
Reviewed 11 March 2014

Never disappoints. Kenji and the whole staff consistently turn out excellent food with superb service. The commitment to the best ingredients crafted into a novel Japanese experience with a twist is second to none. Always a great experience. And they are happy with BYO. All good.

“Beware the fluff”
Reviewed 7 March 2014 via mobile

Dispense with anything but their Rolls

So I ordered their tasting appetizer and it's presentation didn't match it's taste. So I was Leary and order the safety of two rolls. Boy, were they magnificent. Worth the 40 bucks
Their sake menu is elegant
