After a week of wining and dining in the wine regions of SA, local friends suggested we eat at Kenji's. Our experience of Japanese cuisine in the past had been less than impressive - sushi trains, restaurants where cooks literally throw the food at your bowl etc. How different this was. It would be one of the most memorable meals we have had. Fresh food, so artistically presented, and delivered to each diner by Kenji himself, who quietly explained how each main course was created and what it contained. The venison was excellent; the pork belly was beautifully slow cooked with a sublime sauce . Presentation of desserts equally masterful. We also enjoyed marvelling at what was being served to other tables. The restaurant is small , tastefully decorated in a modest Japanese style, runs efficiently, and the staff are delightful. We would love to return.
