From the first phone call to borrowing the salt and pepper from the restaurant for our room cooked dinner these guys are great value. Always friendly and helpful. We had the family apartment for 6 of us and it was nice, clean and cool inside a great respite from the heat. Foodland down the road has a good variety of food and pretty well priced (bottle shop attached :).

Thank you Andrew for your welcoming hospitality. It was a pleasure staying with you. Your rooms are impeccably clean, well presented, beds are comfortable, TV has good signal, Air-conditioner works perfectly... And your suggestion for Dinner (Johns Pizza) was spot on!

We look forward to staying with you again in a few weeks on our return North - Stephanie D & Family from Alice Springs.

This place is awesome. Well situated for the main street shops and restaurants, and some attractions. It wasn't the most luxurious room we have stayed in, but it had everything you could need. The room and en-suite bathroom were spotlessly clean which can't be easy in such a dusty place, the breakfast was excellent, the bed comfy and we couldn't have asked for nicer staff. Andrew in particular (I think he's the manager) couldn't do enough for us.

We are smokers and I chose this place because it is above ground and has easy access to outside for a ciggy. Seats and ashtrays are provided.

The Mud hut is unique as it is built of rammed earth and is in keeping with the feel of the town which is mostly underground.

If I ever go to Coober Pedy again I wouldn't consider any where else.

Mud Hut Motel is a perfect oasis for all the weary, sweaty and dusty travellers seeking civilized accommodation on Stuart Highway. It is not exactly cheap but nothing is, here in the outback. Maybe breakfast included in the price would have been nice. We stayed 2 nights and it was the most comfortable accommodation on our road trip from Uluru to Sydney. Spacious and tastefully designed rooms, very clean. Both receptionists we met were extremely friendly and helpful. When we found none of the operators was going to the Breakaways on that particular day, they arranged a 4WD car rental for us and we went on our own which turned to be much better option. They also sell very nice opal jewellery.

We stayed here for one night on our Australia tour.

We arrived just in time for dinner, and it was the best food we'd had in days. It definitely seemed home cooked to me. Drinks had to be paid for, but were actually cheaper than we'd been used to paying elsewhere, which was quite surprising considering how remote Coober Pedy is.

The staff were very friendly and service was excellent. Wifi was free in reception, but they had routers that they lent out free of charge so that you could also get online in the rooms. When I had difficulty wiring ours up, one of the staff immediately came to our room and sorted it out for us.

The rooms themselves were comfortable with all facilities one would expect.

The location of the hotel was close to town, although Coober Pedy isn't that big anyway.

I actually really liked Coober Pedy. It's not like any other place I've ever visited. It is very remote (8 hours drive from Uluru and not much less than that from Port Augusta to the south). If you are planning on a visit then the Mud Hut Hotel definitely gets a thumbs up from me.

The Motel is very well situated just off the Main Street. The rooms were comfortable, well equipped and very clean. We had problems with our vehicle and internet connection and our host was extraordinarily helpful with practical advice and assistance. Well worth the stay for his service alone. We recently stayed at the Mud Hut whilst travelling through Oz and Andrew at the Mud Hut was awesome to deal with. He helped us out in every way possible, nothing was too much trouble and it was the best service we'd had in outback Oz for quite some time.

Rooms were really nice and bed was SUPER comfy!

Would definitely recommend to anyone who wants a comfy bed to sleep in and super service.
