Only when we had paid for the night did they explain all the limitations of their park, such as that their showers are coin operated. Whenever we dealt with the office we were met by a surly face and unhelpful attitude. It was almost as if they enjoy making things difficult for their guests. Frankly am surprised they are in the tourism industry. Just out to make a buck.

Hello,
Im sorry you had a bad experience with us. It is not our intention to make guests feel bad. I dont know what happened with you exactly, but if you could let me know who served you ,either with a name or physical description I can talk to the correct person and the appropriate action will be taken. We usually get great comments on how jolly our staff are.
We are having renovations at present and are sorry for any inconvenience caused to you. However you also have the right to change your mind on where you stay, we would happily give you a refund if once you had paid you were'nt happy with the situation regarding the pay showers etc. FYI We pay 3-4 times more for water than Adelaide, and we need to have limitations somewhere, I dont think 20c for 2min is a big ask.
I will chat to all staff regarding future customer service. I hope this doesn't happen again. All the best with your future travels.
Regards
Felicity

We stayed in a new one bedroom self – contained apartment (#1-7) and can not fault it. The rooms are clean and comfy with all the necessary appliances. They contain kitchen facilities ( inc dishwasher) and a washing machine which was very handy. They have a little pizza bar onsite too - the pizzas are great and made fresh to order - yum. We think it is the best self-contained accommodation in Coober Pedy.

First class caravan park, from the minute we drove in to the minute we drove out, our stay was pleasurable. The staff were friendly, efficient and helpful and did not push their own organised tour upon us, they gave us all the info we needed to make our decision. We stayed overnight on the way to Ayers Rock and overnight on the way back to Yorke Peninsula. It was our (finance and I) first camping trip and not being overly familiar with camping I didn't know what to expect and am so glad Stuart Range CP was our first because it set us up for the trip. The park is clean and tidy, UP and P are large drive through blocks which are perfect for camper trailers and caravans to manoeuvre around. The price is good for where Coober Pedy is and as for the 20c charge, those who whinge should just go without and smell!!! I managed to have a 6 minute shower for a whole 60c but I would have gladly paid 50c for 2 minutes.....water is precious and the loss of water caused by drippy leaky taps and people not turning the water off is costly and a waste. Hot water too :-). The amenity block is clean and convenient location for all sites. Would like to see soap dispensers installed by the sinks for use after using the loo....I don't tend to carry soap with me other than when going for a shower and its a hygiene matter to keep bugs from spreading around the park by touch of door handles etc. The camp kitchen is top notch, very posh :-). Brand new kitchen, comfy leather sofas and a big plasma TV. Hot water wall urn, toaster, electric oven and fridge/freezer......ideal for an O/N if you don't want to unpack all your stuff. Big playground, plenty of apparatus for kids to play on and not get board. Under cover sites are available but are quick to be snapped up. Couple of trees for shade but majority of sites open air and all dirt, which didn't cause us any problems just pack a door mat and broom!! Pizza place on site make yummy pizzas, highly recommend for lunch or dinner. Pool looked inviting but the temp was a bit cool in the evenings to take a dip. The park is safe and secure and wasn't concerned once about personal belongings which we kept locked away. Had 2 goodnight sleeps, no noise and majority people had lights out by 10pm. The park is appropriate for all ages young and old, couples and families and tour groups. Will certainly stay here if we travel up this way again and will most definitely recommend which we have to a lady travelling on her own who we met at Ayers Rock and funnily enough met on our stop over on the way home. Thank you for a comfortable stay

Room Tip: Bring warm PJ's as the temp at night does drop and not all showers register multiple 20c so put...

We stayed in the caravan park with a campertrailer. The owners have been doing a lot of work throughout the park and we have no problems recommending it to other travellers.
Majority of sites are drive through and large in size. Whilst they are all gravel, this has to be expected in Coober Pedy. The toilets/showers are clean and well set out. There is a small cost charged for water in the showers, but $0-60 will get you a good hot shower.
The camp kitchen is new and very impressive. It has several lounges, dining tables and a large flat screen TV. The cooking facilities are excellent with several cooktops, ovens (unusual in caravan parks), fridges, sinks and even a Zippo hot water urn (saves boiling the kettle). The kitchen is better than some people would have at home.
They have a pizza shop on site and is highly recommended for at least one dinner while you are there.
I also highly recommend the Coober Pedy tour run by the caravan park, as it provides an excellent insight into Coober Pedy life. Worth staying an extra night.
All staff were friendly.

We have stayed here a few time during media drives between Alice Springs and Adelaide, and opted for the new appartmenets (#1-7) and cannot fault this place. Sure it's in the dusty desert of Coober Pedy so expect some dust on the floors, but overall the cleanlisness and comfort of these rooms are just like staying at home. Family freindly, there is options for 2 bedroom apartments and the sapce in all of these rooms is HUGE. They contain kitchen and washing facilities which was great to do a load of washing on the trip we had. They have a little pizza bar too - the pizza's are great and made fresh to order, something you will guarantee to enjoy. Not just my opion, but the opion of the crew that travelled with me is that the Stuart Range Caravan park is the best (hotel/apartment) accomdoation location in Coober Pedy.

Room Tip: They don't do breakfast so get to the IGA down the road before it closes to get some supplies fo...

I can only guess that this Caravan park has Recently been rejuvenated. With spacious sites, although a little dusty, but what would you otherwise expect in Coober pedy, as part of the experience of staying here. I have no complaint about the metered hot water in the showers, as water pretty precious in these parts. The camp kitchen and laundry all shiny, clean and modern.
As for the onsite pizza bar, what a great concept with really good pizzas.
Enjoyed our stay on a powered site and would recommend a stopover.

If your looking for a cheap room, you have it, but you also get dirty bed sheets. Wet bathroom, missing bed pillows and worst of all a room full mice . My recommendations would be to miss cooper pedy all together after our friends car was also broken into over our stay .
