I was lucky enough to have a tour with Wayne to Lake Eyre, going through the smallest town in South Australia, William Creek, and Wayne is an absolutely treasure as a tour guide! Very informative, without being boring (which is essential to any good tour guide), very laid-back and can answer pretty much any question you ask!
Lunch and drinks at William Creek were absolutely beautiful, though the cat tree grossed us out quite a bit (it is fake for anyone wondering - just a movie prop), and Wayne stopped at all the brilliant photo spots.
You just want to keep wandering around Lake Eyre when you get there... absolutely breathtaking.
We were also lucky enough to catch sunset at Lake Cadi(something-or-rather), which is a little oasis in the desert - something I couldn't have imagined ever.
Wayne makes you feel like you're a special guest and a friend he just happens to be showing around, rather than just another tour that he's been on a 1000 times. Highly recommended to everyone.

Absolutely amazing, Wayne makes every part of the tour individually brilliant. We were able to stop and take photos of anything (and there's a lot). I learnt more than I thought I would Wayne is very knowledgable able to answer every question. The painted desert itself is absolutely amazing site, we walked to the top (which was quite easy) to an amazing view. Then it was off to lunch at the bottom made by Wayne himself. Not a single bad word to say about this tour, highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.

It has taken me some time to write this review, but I hope this doesn't detract from that fact that my mother and I had an absolutely wonderful time with Wayne on a day tour of the Painted Desert. I cannot recommend Wayne enough; if you are planning to explore this area, then do not even consider going with anyone else! If you want a truly memorable and magical experience of this mythical-like, red landscape studded with flowers after the rains, Wayne is the perfect hospitable, knowledgeable and humble gentleman to go on a tour with.

We arrived in Coober Pedy at 5am and although the tour doesn't usually start until 9am, Wayne picked us up at the bus terminal and started the day extremely early for our convenience. We were lucky as we drove though the fog (highly unusual in this area) across the Moon Plains and watched the sun rise over a creek that had emerged after the rains. After stopping for breakfast in a beautiful spot, we drove to the famous painted hills. All the while, Wayne shared his vast knowledge of the land, its people, wildlife and the botanical and geological histories. The hills were absolutely amazing: formed over a 100 millions years, you could see the layers of colours that had trickled along them that give them their distinct appearance and name. We stopped at the crater-like Moon Plains on our way back that were studded with patches of green and white flowers.

Wayne was kind enough to drop us at our hotel and the next day when we were walking to see a Church some distance away, Wayne stopped his car, gave us a lift and even waited for us, driving us back into town. We were so humbled by his generosity and kindness, which made us feel extremely welcome.

I can assure you that you will not be disappointed if you decide to go on a tour of this area with Wayne. It is an other-wordly landscape that invites you to discover and marvel at its secrets. It is a great privilege to have seen this part of Australia and I hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

Wayne lived up to everything we needed in a tour guide. Not only did he share as much information about the area to make the sights significant, he shared his own personal stories as well. We felt safe at all times, and as 4WDers ourselves, shared valuable insights into 4WDing in this country with us. Wayne - keep up the good work - thanks heaps. Mike and Michelle

After reading such glowing reviews, our expectations were high but Wayne did not disappoint! We took a half-day tour to the Breakaways, the Moon Plain and the Dog Fence. The scenery was magnificent but it was Wayne's ability to put all we saw into context which made for a special few hours. He is indeed a wealth of information and only to happy to accommodate our requests at very short notice. Our two children, aged 7 and 9, had a ball scrambling up and down the huge sandy mullock heaps of the opal mines.

Do not miss one of Wayne's tours if you are in Coober Pedy. The tour was a highlight of our stay in this fascinating mining town.
