“What a place!!”
Reviewed 24 June 2013

Stayed at Radekas for 1 nights on my way through to Adelaide from the Simpson desert and wished i had planned to stay longer! Lovely friendly welcome when i arrived and i was loaded with info about some great things to do in my short time in CP. A great experience staying underground in one of the dorm rooms , the place has so much character! Comfy beds, clean showers and a huge kitchen all added to my great time , would definitely recommend this place and would love to come back and stay again one day!

A nice affordable alternative in Coober Pedy. The owner/manager Martin was very helpful and was able to arrange spur of the moment underground accommodation for me and even gave me directions to a great location for stargazing. I highly recommend this establishment, you will not be disappointed.

It's a quiet nice expirience sleeping 6,5 meters below the hot dessert. But that's all. Staff at reception tried to be helpfull, but so called legend Martin was not at all. After cleaning staff just woke up everyone at shortly past 8, we took a shower, checked out till 9:30 as wished and went for breakfest. Good old legend Martin just couldn't wait and kicked us out 10:05. Couldn't even finish my sandwich!

So if you like rude people, no power sockets in your room or somewhere close and bucks and coakroaches in the kitchen you might be very welcome. 85$ for one night (double)... Thanks for nothing!

My family had a 1,500km drive from Adelaide to Alice Springs. Coober Pedy was the half way point in our travels and we booked the room on my mobile whilst driving through Port Augusta. Anyone that has done this drive with 4 kids under 8 years old will relate to this review! After the very long drive and 4 kids that where testing my patience to say the least, the totally unique accommodation that greeted us was perfect. 2 huge rooms, 1 for the kids with 2 bunks and 1 for us. The room was underground and was surprisingly cool considering it was a 40 degree day. Comfy bed, very clean room, ensuite with a fridge and tea and coffee facilities, this place was like an oasis in the desert after a long drive. There is an excellent restaurant a 2 minute walk away (i thnk it's called Tony's) and the owner Martin with the big beard and blue truckies singlet was very friendly, helpful and a true Aussie Outback Gem.

Room Tip: Arrive in Coober Pedy around lunch time. There is heaps to see and do around Coober Pedy and the Opa...
