The restaurant itself was warm, clean and bright, and the wait staff were friendly and curteous.

But the food was lacking in flavour and depth. Our 2 dishes of pasta were huge, stodgy wads of overcooked pasta, flavourless cream sauce and a scattering of chicken or salmon. I ordered the creamy salmon with fettuccini and discovered they now mix in some orange coloured fettuccini with the white, so what I thought was large pieces of salmon turned out to be limp pasta. If it wasn't for the capers and parsley garnish there would have been zero flavour. The other dish ordered was chicken with avacado, which was also just as bland. Some freshly cracked pepper or parmesan might have been a nice touch? Or at least a dash of flavour!

The ladies bathroom was one of the WORST I have ever seen in an eatery. There were wet and rotting holes in the plaster in the roof and walls, the floors were wet from a leak somewhere, some of the tiles were cracked and broken and the whole area was just filthy.

They cater for all ages, and idiosyncracies! Eg Mayo instead of Tartare.
Very wide variety on menu, and choices with many meals.

We have frequented La Porchetta a few times over the years and everytime we leave there feeling less and less impressed.

We ordered the Pollo e Avocado and a creamy salmon dish which I do not recall the name of. Both dishes were bland and lacking ingredients. We have ordered these dishes on previous occasions and the most recent time indicated that this restuarant may be on a serious cost cutting excercise as the dishes were extremely light on for core ingredients and in essence we ended up with two plates of pasta and cream. Very poor meals at a very high price.

The service we had was excellent and the waitress provided our son with pencils and a coloring sheet without invitation which was VERY welcome at that time of night haha.

The restaurant itself is quite well presented and provides a nice ambiance. Of concern though and a reason why I am rating this place so low in addition to the poor food is the toilets. They are a dark dingy manky disgrace and the owners of this establishment should hold their heads in shame. I note from the pictures on the wall that the owners of this restaurant like to sponser sports teams - I would suggest that they divert some of this funding to refitting the toilet facilities. You feel dirty after going in there :(

Overall, La Porchetta in North Hobart needs a serious revamp and refresh from ground up. We have no intention of going here again.

Late in Thursday evening. Cold and a little tired we were looking for something warming , comforting and tasty. La Prchetta delivered. Lovely fresh and warming pizzas. Good in taste and very substantial toppings. Yum

Come to La Porchetta and you get what you want. Quality, no nonsense Italian food, in portions momma would be proud of. And the house red, served in half litre carafes like on the back streets of Napoli, is a very tasty drop.
