My partner is so partial to a particular pickle on a particularly tasty sandwich (leg ham, farmhouse cheddar on home-made bread) that she insists on returning to Tricycle every time we are in Hobart.
Not that I need convincing. My favourite is a spicy baked eggs, or their home-made muffins, or in fact, anything on their menu (not partial to eel, giving that one a miss!) From savoury home made soups to delightful cakes Tricycle has it!
Nestling beside the Peacock Theatre like a bunch of eager groupies the tables are privy to all the goings-on in the Salamanca Arts Centre. So it's a great place to just sit and watch out of the weather. They even provide blankets on especially chilly days, for those used to warmer climes.
Ten metres away on a Saturday are the wonderful Salamanca Markets, so Tricycle is the perfect place for a break mid wander.
The service is warm and friendly. They notice what you need or predict what you don't realise you will need (a blanket, water etc) and always, always, they make you feel special.
So each time my partner says she feels like that pickle, I don't need to think about it. I'm in!
