“Wonderful Gem close to the City and North Hobart”
Reviewed 15 July 2014

Me and my partner just enjoyed a wonderful stay at the Lodge on Elizabeth. The room was fantastic, clean and spacious with wonderful hosts Jeff and Julie who were only too happy to help with any request and point us in the right direction for tourist sites and places of intrest. The Lodges location in Elizabeth Street is very close to the Hobart CBD (7 minute walk)and Salamanca Place and Constitution dock only a 15 minute walk. This accommodation provides street parking permits which is very handy.

If you head up Elizabeth street to North Hobart you will find a large selection of restaurants and pubs with all cuisines catered for. I would like to thank Jeff and Julie for a wonderful stay and cannot recommend this accommodation highly enough.

Thank you

Luke and Lucy (Melbourne)

This is a lovely colonial style building. It has a charming back area and lovely dining and lounging facilities. It also has a laundry so you can catch up on your washing. It is close to great restaurants and the centre of Hobart. The hosts and staff are superb. The continental breakfast in the dining room is superb.

Room Tip: Thy have a wonderful outdoor area in the back where you can enjoy a quiet drink with friends or you...

We stayed in the lovely rustic Cottage at The Lodge on Elizabeth, North Hobart, for 5 nights. The Cottage was very comfortable, cosy and warm. On arrival our host, Jeff, gave us a very warm welcome tour and made us feel very comfortable. Before we arrived Jeff had booked us on the Mona ferry and tour (as arranged via email), and he offered us useful suggestions and tips to help us make the most of our holiday in Hobart. This is a great location with an easy 15 minute walk to Salamanca and Hobart CBD. We would definitely stay here again. Great facilities, historic buildings and friendly hosts. Thank you Jeff and Julie!

Jeff and Julie are amazing hosts with superb knowledge of Tassie and surrounds.
Not only is the lodge warm, inviting, clean and well situated they have everything covered from parking permits if required and discount vouchers for fuel. They have thought of everything to make your stay easy and memorable.
It is the only place I will book for my future Hobart stays.

Room Tip: We stayed upstairs and faced the courtyard but the city is quiet after 9pm so no road noise could be...

My family and I absolutely LOVED out time at the Lodge. The hospitality was fantastic, and we were always able to ask for help or directions when we needed to, as we were very new to Hobart. The location is so convinient for exploring the city, as everything is within walking distance (restaurants, historic sites, Salamanca markets). We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to any family, couple, or anyone who enjoys friendly hosts, a comfortable living environment, wonderful breakfast and much MUCH more. Book the Lodge on Elizabeth now!!

Room Tip: All rooms looked lovely - they have noise reduction and ensuites, and because we were travelling wit...

I was in Hobart for work this week and had booked a two-night stay at a hotel near my work location.
Despite being told I had a 'VERY quiet room' I had to move from this hotel after just one night because of the shocking noise from a beer garden practically right below my bedroom window!
I moved to The Lodge.

My experience there was so different! My hosts were very attentive and helpful. The room was beautifully furnished and squeaky clean. The bed and linen was great, as was the ensuite.
There was a bit of noise from Elizabeth St but nothing compared to the previous hotel.

The Lodge itself has to be seen to be believed; it is a stunning mansion, and so warm and inviting compared to newer hotels. The location is unbeatable for anyone needing to be close to the city, but not right in.

The only thing I would change is the size of the tea-cups. So many hotels have tiny cups instead of good, big mugs for those of us who love a big cup of tea on arrival!

Room Tip: Ask for one facing away from Elizabeth St. They also have a self-contained one-bedroom garden room w...

We stayed at The Lodge on Elizabeth for three night but would have loved to stay there much longer. It is located within walking distance of the CBD, harbour, Salamanca market and great restaurants. Jeff and Julie were incredibly friendly and helpful. The rooms are very comfortable and there is a really good continental breakfast buffet. I can only say one thing, the next time we are in Tasmania we will be staying at The Lodge on Elizabeth but for a longer time!
