We stayed here for 4 nights and found it to be very well situated for the Salamanca area of Hobart. The Hotel itself is gorgeous and beautifully renovated. The rooms are warm and very clean. We would love to stay here again.

Room Tip: Any view is fine really.

The Lenna isn't bad but also isn't what the hotel says it is in the way of luxury as according to the ads on the hotel TV ,the whole place was renovated in the year 2000 and promote their Penthouses completed in 2007.Maybe time to change and upgrade that video. In saying that the Beds were comfortable and the layout of the main room could have been thought out a bit more.Value for money is not here as other hotels, apartments in the area offer better value.

Dear Ian P,

Thank you for your recent review and our apologies we didn't fully meet your expectations.

Lenna of Hobart was refurbished in 2000 and we have actually just finished stage 3 of our current refurbishment program which has involved the full refurbishment of all hotel rooms over the last 3 years. We are also just about to embark on stage 4 of the program which will be an upgrade of our atrium in our accommodation wing and some general public area works.

We are sorry that you didn't find the accommodation value for money. We certainly aim to provide the best value for all guests and believe we are competitively priced with regards to our product, location and level of customer service provided.

Again our apologies and hopefully we may have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future.

Kind Regards
Justin

Stayed 2 nights with my wife and 5 year old on ground floor. Spacious, comfortable, high standard of accommodation but a bit motel-like. The old building is lovely - reception, restaurant etc is there, but rooms are mostly in the newer (1970's) concrete extension. Just a short downhill stroll to Salamanca tourist shops and the market, so a great location. Don't forget to climb the stairs & ladder in the old building and take in the view. Also, walk further into Battery Point (literally just around the corner) for a couple of great small non touristy cafes.

Hi Tomthepicutreframer,

Thanks very much for the review and glad you enjoyed your recent stay.

All of our rooms are in our accommodation wing and the original Lenna mansion c.1874 houses our reception, Alexander's restaurant, Chandelier Lounge Bar, function rooms and at the very top the original McGregor's Lookout that I am glad you enjoyed.

Hope to see you back again.

Kind Regards
Justin

We stayed at Lenna in January 2014 and were very impressed with the rooms. They had been remodelled and very modern, comfortable and clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The old part of the hotel is beautiful! We had a view to the harbour. The hotel is very close to Salamanca and walking distance to everything. Take a look at Arthur Circus as it is in the same street. I would recommend this hotel. Only downside was we had a queen size bed, I would have liked a king but this was the only fault

Room Tip: Choose a room with a view of the harbour

Dear Kelly R,

Thanks very much for your review and we are glad you enjoyed your stay.

From your review it looks like you booked a Harbour View Queen Room. The majority of our rooms do have queen beds, however, we have some full refurbished Harbour View King Suites that do have king beds.

Hope to see you back in the future.

Kind Regards
Justin

My fiancé and I stayed at The Lenna for 4 nights over the Queen's birthday long weekend. We had a fantastic time. The location was amazing and as we arrived on a Saturday we wanted to hit the Salamanca markets immediately. We were able to drop our car off in the carpark before midday and although our room wasn't ready at that time, we got a call about an hour later to say we could check in early. It is only a 1 minute walk to Salamanca Place and an abundance of restaurants and bars. The hotel is a beautiful mix of older charm on the outside but with lovely modern rooms on the inside. The hotel bar was also a great place for a nightcap with the fire going and all the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. I would recommend The Lenna to anyone visiting Hobart without hesitation. You won't be disappointed.

Lenna felt like a B&B with professional staff and I have a horror of B&Bs!

The staff were all friendly and accommodating and the room (superior water facing room) was profoundly fine. Not great, not terribly but really, really fine. No robes or slippers, *really* uncomfortable bed but good size, nice bathroom and delightful view. Very clean also.

The common areas are not great - the old mansion half is what you'd except but the newer front wing is pretty unappealing. The stairs had an M.C. Escher feel and the decor and surrounds felt very dated.

Continental buffet breakfast was pretty good - exactly the same thing both days but tasty enough.

I would not return to Lenna but could see the property suiting people who don't mind staying at B&B type properties but who are looking for extras like 24-hour reception and room service.

Hi camilla197,

Thanks for the review and we are sorry that Lenna of Hobart was not the kind of property you enjoy.

We are glad you enjoyed our rooms. We have recently finished a full refurbishment of our rooms over the last 3 years. Sorry you found the bed uncomfortable, if you can contact us and let us know your room number and we can look into this further as our beds are quite new.

We are also happy to advise that we are looking at doing some work on the accommodation wing atrium to make them more modern and we have some exciting plans for this.

Good to see you enjoyed our continental breakfast. We do run a continental breakfast 7 days and we also have a new full a la carte breakfast menu which has received some great feedback.

Again thanks for the review. Please keep an eye on our website to see our developments and we hope to be able to welcome you back again.

Kind Regards
Justin

A regular on business and pleasure to Hobart I have stayed in most of the major hotels over the last 6 years but exclusively in the last 2 years I choose to stay at the Lenna. Why? because its simply the besy in my view. Friendly and very helpful and accomodating, great rooms and view and good food. What more can you ask for at such reasonable prices right in the heart of Salamanca !
