Stayed there as we were attending a 40th birthday. All other guests stayed at same property and we were all really impressed with the property. Fantastic location, so close to all that is Hobart and being in such a grand old building just added to it being so wonderful - don't worry the rooms have been fully upgraded. We will definitely be staying here again when we return to Hobart - we loved it!!!!

Room Tip: We stayed in a Park View room - quiet and dark in the mornings so you could enjoy that lovely sleep...

Hi Nathan J,

Thanks for posting a review.

We are very glad you and the rest of your party enjoyed your recent stay with us. Our location is great and the Lenna mansion is such a beautiful building; I am pleased you loved it as much as we do.

Our Park View Rooms are very popular as they are quiet and have a lovely outlook over the Lenna Gardens and Princes Park. Other room types look over Mount Wellington or Constitution Dock and the waterfront area and all have been fully refurbished.

It’s great to hear you plan on staying again when you return, we look forward to seeing you then!

Kind regards,

Florence

Lenna is a nice hotel. The building is beautiful and it has a nice heritage feel to it. The rooms are clean but dated. The interior of the hotel is unattractive and open to the elements which for Hobart is strange. The restaurant is lovely though as is the reception and bar area. Overall I feel the hotel is fine but the location is great being right beside Salamanca and close proximity to the city centre.

Hi daviddelaney70,

Thanks for the four star review!

It is good to hear that you enjoyed your stay at Lenna and made the most of our excellent location.

All our rooms are fully refurbished with the last of these finished as recently as September last year so I am sorry to hear you found them to be dated. In regards to the atrium we do have plans to upgrade this area dramatically in the near future. Although it is open, the area has three walls and a ceiling which shelter the rooms. We also ensure powerful heaters are in all rooms keeping all our guests nice and warm on cold Hobart nights.

I am glad you liked Alexanders Restaurant and the Chandelier Bar and hope you were able to dine with us during your time in Hobart.

We hope to see you again next time you are in Hobart.

Kind regards,

Florence

hobart is a beautiful city. it's not cool in a melbourne-way (MONA, notwithstanding), nor does it offer postcard harbour views like sydney. it has more of an old-world charm about it, and i suppose that either appeals to you or it doesn't.

but that's where lenna of hobart fits right in. it's a beautiful, grand old building - built back in the early 1880's from memory. needless to say the insides have been renovated since then offering you all the modern comforts you need.

the staff were all friendly and helpful - as is usually the case in hobart. my room was a decent size, with a very comfortable bed and good selection of pillows. room service was reasonably quick, but not too quick. the steak i had was thick and perfectly cooked.

location is absolutely ideal, being but a few short minutes from salamanca and all that she offers insofar as bars and restaurants.

Hi Capt_Funkelicious,

Great to hear you had a good time in Hobart and enjoyed your stay at Lenna; our location really is the perfect base for exploring all that the city has to offer.

The Lenna mansion is a heritage listed building built in 1874 as a private home which now houses our reception, Alexanders Restaurant, The Chandelier Bar and a selection of function rooms. It certainly has been renovated however we have tried to keep the old world charm of the building alive.

I am pleased you liked your room, found the beds to be comfortable, and enjoyed your room service meal. Thank you also for mentioning our staff, it’s good to hear that you found Hobart to be a friendly city!

Thanks for the review and we hope to see you again.

Kind regards,

Florence

We stayed here for 4 nights and found it to be very well situated for the Salamanca area of Hobart. The Hotel itself is gorgeous and beautifully renovated. The rooms are warm and very clean. We would love to stay here again.

Room Tip: Any view is fine really.

The Lenna isn't bad but also isn't what the hotel says it is in the way of luxury as according to the ads on the hotel TV ,the whole place was renovated in the year 2000 and promote their Penthouses completed in 2007.Maybe time to change and upgrade that video. In saying that the Beds were comfortable and the layout of the main room could have been thought out a bit more.Value for money is not here as other hotels, apartments in the area offer better value.

Dear Ian P,

Thank you for your recent review and our apologies we didn't fully meet your expectations.

Lenna of Hobart was refurbished in 2000 and we have actually just finished stage 3 of our current refurbishment program which has involved the full refurbishment of all hotel rooms over the last 3 years. We are also just about to embark on stage 4 of the program which will be an upgrade of our atrium in our accommodation wing and some general public area works.

We are sorry that you didn't find the accommodation value for money. We certainly aim to provide the best value for all guests and believe we are competitively priced with regards to our product, location and level of customer service provided.

Again our apologies and hopefully we may have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future.

Kind Regards
Justin

Stayed 2 nights with my wife and 5 year old on ground floor. Spacious, comfortable, high standard of accommodation but a bit motel-like. The old building is lovely - reception, restaurant etc is there, but rooms are mostly in the newer (1970's) concrete extension. Just a short downhill stroll to Salamanca tourist shops and the market, so a great location. Don't forget to climb the stairs & ladder in the old building and take in the view. Also, walk further into Battery Point (literally just around the corner) for a couple of great small non touristy cafes.

Hi Tomthepicutreframer,

Thanks very much for the review and glad you enjoyed your recent stay.

All of our rooms are in our accommodation wing and the original Lenna mansion c.1874 houses our reception, Alexander's restaurant, Chandelier Lounge Bar, function rooms and at the very top the original McGregor's Lookout that I am glad you enjoyed.

Hope to see you back again.

Kind Regards
Justin

We stayed at Lenna in January 2014 and were very impressed with the rooms. They had been remodelled and very modern, comfortable and clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The old part of the hotel is beautiful! We had a view to the harbour. The hotel is very close to Salamanca and walking distance to everything. Take a look at Arthur Circus as it is in the same street. I would recommend this hotel. Only downside was we had a queen size bed, I would have liked a king but this was the only fault

Room Tip: Choose a room with a view of the harbour

Dear Kelly R,

Thanks very much for your review and we are glad you enjoyed your stay.

From your review it looks like you booked a Harbour View Queen Room. The majority of our rooms do have queen beds, however, we have some full refurbished Harbour View King Suites that do have king beds.

Hope to see you back in the future.

Kind Regards
Justin
