We stayed here for two nights (Friday and Saturday nights) and it is just the best location. With a guaranteed car parking space with each room, its just so handy to park and then explore on foot as so close to everything, or to take a drive and know a car space will be available upon your return. The one-bedroom apartment was neat and fresh and had everything we wanted. The only down fall was the shower was quite weak, but you get that in most accommodation places these days. Checking in across the road at Lenna was not an issue and the staff were very helpful. We will be staying here again when back in Hobart.

Room Tip: We were in room 404 which only had a view of the hill behind and the car park but least we didnt hav...

Stayed at the Salamanca Terraces and apart from from location, we were a little dissapointed.
The terraces are affiliated with Lenna's Hotel which is across the road and up the hill. When you get dropped off at the Terraces you then have to negoitiate a walk off 100 mtrs up a hill in the rain and dark dragging your luggage with you, check in, then walk back down the road in the dark to your suite. Not a good first impression you get. Although you could ask the taxi to take you to Lenna's reception, wait while you book in then roll down the hill to Salamanca Terraces and drop you off at the entrance (would be a good tip if they told you this when you book the room!)
Rooms were comfy and clean but you get the impression that staying at the Terraces rather than at Lenna's, you are a "poor cousin" and from what we felt, treated as such!.
Only offers breakfast at Lenna's restaurant, very noisy air cond/ heating that rattles throughout the night but great proximity to Salamanca Square with all eateries and local pubs at your doorstep. Wharf and criuses very close as well.
Apartments are all self contained with kitchen and laundry in apartments.
Just lacks personal touch and has no hospitality.

We spent three nights in this establishment and I must say that we were a little disappointed with the lack of space in the room. Apart from that , the room was well fitted out. It was clean and the location was superb. Saturday morning we walked out the front door, straight into the Salamanca markets. Also, it was only a short walk up into the city. The room had large areas of glass which was great for the view over the harbor but the room did get quite hot during the day. The room was on the second floor but a lift made access quite easy. Reception is located in the Lenna Hotel across the road, which was a bit difficult to find at first.

Great spot for waterfront and easy walk to good restaurants in Battery Point.

Warm and cosy, comfy beds. We had two bedroom apartment for 4 adults and 1 child. Only drawback was only 1 bathroom.

Well equipped kitchenette if you wanted to self cater.

I went to Salamaca Terraces through a Wotif booking which helped keep the cost down. Great location for the markets and the rest of the City plus handy for cruise trips. Apartment was well kitted out with all you could ask for, plus the room service was fast and to a good standard! Only shame was the apartment opposite blocking the view to the harbour area, and the rubbish men picking up the empty bottles from the street at 6am!

This was the best appointed of all our stays in Tasmania. Mini bar and kitchenette were tops. Although termed 'studio' our room was spacious, as was the bathroom. Only negative was being on the ground floor, noise did impact, but became really quiet later.....we slept well. The bonus was the invitation to enjoy the historic Lenna Hotel facilities!

Room Tip: A higher room would be better, but probably more than the $139 we paid!

I chose Salamanca Terraces after some internet research, partly because of good reviews and partly because I wanted to be on the Salamanca strip for the weekend. Check-in over the road was painless, staff were very pleasant, and initial impressions of the studio room were favourable; it was clean, comfortable and well-equipped. It is well situated for exploring the range of dining options along Salamanca Place, as well as the famous weekend markets. A short walk took me to the restaurants around Constitution Dock as well. Photographic missions were easily completed around Battery Point up the hill. The bed was comfortable, but the noise in the street tended to intrude a bit, especially on Saturday night when it kept me awake; apart from that environment issue, all was good, and I would stay again.

Room Tip: Perhaps consider opting for upper floor units to gain more privacy and peace....
