Beautiful blend of modern and old. Post and beam construction visible throughout and not hidden.
Staff is attentive and very friendly . Could not be a better stay. I must say that the bathroom maybe pretty , but the designer sinks are ridiculous and almost unusable . Not a practicable room.
It really is a terrific hotel and well located!!

From the moment we arrived at the Henry Jones Art Hotel nothing was too much trouble, the staff were more than happy to help. The room was impressive with great views over the harbour and beautiful modern bathroom amongst the restored Jam factory room. The hotel location was central and everything was in easy walking distance. Loved the free wifi and valet parking for all guests. I would happily stay again if I get the chance and would highly recommend it to others.

Just had a great weekend in Hobart and stayed at the Henry Jones Art House Hotel. Great location, boutique hotel feel, with great ambiance and service. I highly recommend it as the pace to stay in Hobart.

We only stayed one night as it's not a cheap hotel to stay. Having said that we wished we stayed longer has it was worth it. We were impressed by the quality of staff service. The design of the hotel is also impressive, beautifully restored, the building keeps the unique characteristics of its jam factory past with contemporary interventions and artwork displayed though out. Overall a high quality and memorable experience.

Room Tip: We stayed in the loft rooms which were fine however no views out to the harbour

We stayed in the Artist Studio Loft and enjoyed 6n here - fairly quiet, spacious, comfortable, warm (double a/c) with mini kitchen and microwave. Staff very friendly, helpful and car was available promptly. Negotiating the stairs from mezzanine bedroom at night (bathroom below) really could do with a night light on the stairs so main lights not required - it is steep. The shower was a tight squeeze (and could have been better designed under stairs).
The corridor wooden floors were being sanded and stained while we were here. It highlighted a potential emergency "risk" with both the stairs and crossing at the same egress point! Even staff didn't realise issue until first day. Needs to be addressed.
The Friday art tour is really excellent. The history of HJ XL in particular and the support for local artists is to be commended. Curator knows the place and art 100%!
I can understand some might be surprised if in a top floor room with its exposed ceiling/under side roof - the art tour first could help.
It was surprising breakfast was not included in the tariff - so we never sampled any meals in restaurant - always ended up elsewhere (central location, so plenty of choice and very good nearby).

Room Tip: Lofts back onto access lane, so some noise from traffic. Rooms facing into inner courtyard could be...

WAY overpriced for what you get. TIP: If you want to appreciate the art or the history of the Jam Factory, then simply go there for lunch or drinks and save yourself the high cost of the room/night. They have a great outdoor seating area that anyone can access and that is where the experience starts and ends. There is no history or theming in the rooms (or at least the one we stayed in). Also, no view. We opened the shades to find that we were starting at another side of a building. Better to keep the shades closed.

My son (3 years old), husband and I stayed in one on their lofts and it was a regular room with a loft, of course, but the bad part about it is the bathroom was extremely small. Not family friendly at all. The shower was 3ft x 3ft and an extremely small soap dish, so if you needed to bring in anything other then soap, it has to go on the floor. No bathtub so it was difficult to bath our son in this very small shower. The bathroom had a near broken towel bar that had a loose screw and debris around it. So much for safety standards. I had to keep reminding my son not to hold on to the towel bar so he wouldn't get hurt. We considered a cot for our son due to the small bed we had, however they wanted to charge us $50+/night for the cot. Here is the funny part... it's stored right in the room! It's not like you are taking the cot away from anyone else who needs to use it and there is no labor in bringing it to the room. What a joke. Additionally, their buffet breakfast has no hot food, only cold food, unless you decided to heat up your bread and make toast. So, there was $30/person for a small selection of cold food and they even charged us $30 for my 3 year old son who had 2 slices of cheese. We approached the staff and they finally took it off our bill, but really?! There are plenty of other beautiful hotels in the area, so I would recommend to stay elsewhere.

On arrival nothing a problem. We were a little early for check in. Reception said we could check in and take our luggage and maybe we could look around the Marina. We ended up taking a Mona Tour and enjoyed every minute of it. On returning to our room we were given a tour of the hotel. We were also upgraded a really nice surprise. The room was everything we could have hoped for an more. Easy walking to the many eateries. The view from our room to the Harbour was to die for.

Room Tip: Henry Jones Suite. HUGE.
