We celebrated our wedding anniversary in Hobart and loved staying at The Henry Jones. Staff were attentive and incredibly helpful, the decor of the hotel very fitting for an art hotel, and the rooms impeccable with an old world charm. The hotel very generously upgraded our stay to the Henry Jones Suite without us even requesting an upgrade, which made the stay all the more memorable. There is a small gym with very new exercise machines (including the best treadmill course simulator I have ever experienced!), with the only thing missing being a pool/spa. Highly recommend staying here.

Room Tip: Harbour view rooms are worth the added expense

Waterfront spa room..very spacious with views across the waterfront. Surprisingly quiet given the location. Check in and out was quick and easy, with early access to the room much appreciated. We have stayed many times at this hotel and the spa rooms are the preferred option for special occasions such as this (anniversary).. but the bathroom itself was in need of an overhaul (the tiles requiring some maintenance in the shower) and the carpet marked. Service was a little slow in both the bar and restaurant but the cocktails delicious and the meal enjoyable. It still remains our favourite hotel in Hobart despite the above and we will return.

Room Tip: I'm thinking the second level rooms (waterfront) would enjoy the best view.

I'd probably give this a 4 1/2 if that option was available. This was my third stay at the Henry Jones, and I'm looking forward to my next stay there. I was upgraded to a harbour view room (120) with a spa which was an unexpected delight. The window was fairly small and very draughty. As always, the staff were friendly, obliging and helpful. The hotel is situated on Constitution Dock and a short walk to both the CBD and Salamanca Place (and Battery Point). The combination of the heritage building, the funky conversion and the art make it a very interesting place to stay. It's a little pricey, but worth it for an occasional treat. especially for mainlanders having a quick Hobart sojourn to go to MONA.
I enjoy visiting the indigenous art gallery in the complex, ART Mob, and having Jam Packed for coffees and light meals. Bring on the next excuse to go to Hobart!

Room Tip: The studio lofts were previously to be avoided - but they may have improved as they are in the proce...

Held a business dinner here on 4th November 2013. We had about 8 extra arrivals. Jess,, the manager for the e ending was outstanding. She accommodated our 40+ guests superbly without complaint. Thanks Jess, you and the team were fantastic.

After having a beautiful hot chocolate from Jam Packed and enjoying the pleasant afternoon sunshine in the Atrium, I surprised my girlfriend with a booking in one of the Deluxe Spa rooms.
Arriving in the foyer, we were greeted by the cheerful team. Unfortunately I can only remember one person's name (Greg, you were great), but all the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. We had also been upgraded to a harbour facing room.
The room was lovely, nice and clean with the heritage showing through with the exposed rafters and corrugated iron. Considering that though, we were never cold.
The bathroom was gorgeous with a deep spa bath and decent shower. I was a little apprehensive about the bathroom being frosted glass, but it is modestly lit.
We didn't eat at the restaurant because we had a previous booking nearby. However, perhaps next time we'll try it out.
We only stayed a night, but both wish we had a chance to stay longer. Check out was quick and easy, and all too soon we had to go back to the real world.

Room Tip: Room 217 has a great view, but you'd get a better sleep facing the Atrium.

The reception staff were really helpful and friendly. Our room (114) was very spacious with a big bed, very large shower room, seating area and even a small kitchen area (you need to ask for plates, bowls, cutlery etc if you want to use it but they arrive pretty quickly). The hotel is full of history and, as the name suggests, has works of art everywhere you look which makes for an interesting stroll around. As it is situated near the marina where many of the trips go from it's really convenient and we didn't need to use our hire car all the time we were there. It had been valet parked when we arrived so we didn't need to worry about it either.
One small downside was that we handed in some laundry to be done but it wasn't - seems that the service is for dry clean only but there is space for laundry on the form so it could possibly help if that was changed. In the meantime, we read the hotel info and found that there was a guest laundry on the second floor so we used that and sorted it out.
We didn't eat at the hotel so can't comment on the restaurant.

We booked a loft room at the Henry Jones for a weekend in Hobart. Considering the $365 a night price tag we thought we were in for something special. We weren't, the lofts are part of a recent addition at the rear of the beautiful original building which can best be described as ordinary. It overlooked a loading bay and ugly rear lane. We complained to the front desk, as lovely as they were they were unable to move us to another room as the hotel was full. To make matters worse we we're kept up most of that night by heavy winds causing the roof above us to bang continuously. We checked out and moved hotels the next morning. I wouldn't not recommended the Henry jones hotel, but I would definitely avoid the loft rooms.
