I absolutely love this hotel. It is beautifully designed, the views are terrific, rooms are very comfortable with nice bathroom and amenities and the staff are outstanding. I am in hotels about 100 nights a year, and this is a winner on every front.

Room Tip: I think they're all good. I had one overlooking the harbor which was beautiful. The walls ar...

My friend and i recently stayed for 2 nights for Dark MOFO and we had a wonderful time.
The room was large and comfortable and had some of the old quirky archetectural features left on display. the bed was comfortable and we requested and were given latex pillows.
A special thank you to all the staff who were very courteous, accomodating and helpful.
Nothing ever was a problem for the staff they were at all times friendly and very professional any requests were dealt with swiftly.
The breakfast at the cafe was excellent we had a serve of delicious french toast and the porrige with pears was also very nice.Great coffee. We had a light dinner at the hotels Restaurant and i have to say this was the only dissapointing thing about the whole stay, I found the soup from the Restaurant more like a puree rather than soup and the deconstructed quince dessert was sub par. I would return to the hotel definitely however I would probably dine elsewhere in gorgeous Hobart.

We stayed in a spa suite, overlooking the main square. i had been afraid it might be oisy, but, actually, it was very quiet ad pleasant. The old factory building has its unique charm with exposed details, such as wooden beams in your room, brick walls and so on. Every room is unique. in the spa room, you also get a large Jacuzzi bathtub. Very nice, helpful and skilled staff. It is interesting just to wander through the corridors of this place, with unique pieces of art all over. In the large patio, there are some adjacent art shops and restos, even a breakfast place. the hotel itself also has a ice restaurant/breakfast place downstairs. The only thing, especially surprising at such a high-class hotel, was that upon our arrival, in the bathroom, we discovered... a parade of ants!!! However, we spoke about it with the receptionist and they dealt with it right away (as we went out for the dinner). We never saw the ants again.

Room Tip: I'd opt for a room with the view on the main square (on the entrance). Other rooms face not that...

My partner and I just stayed for three nights at the Henry Jones for Dark Mofo (fabulous) and our anniversary. We stayed in a 'standard room' but found the room to be gorgeous, stylish, big, and with a 'wow' bathroom (think contemporary, glass, good lighting, double shower heads etc). View from our room was over the atrium, not the harbour, but that meant we had morning sun in our room which was lovely. We utilised the complimentary valet parking which made life really easy, especially as Hobart was buzzing. Staff were incredibly warm and helpful; special mention to Chauntelle (reservations), and to both Greg and Simon (reception / concierge). I don't know how management does it, but every staff member we spoke to or who assisted us was professional, super friendly, and efficient. Our whole stay was a treat. Thank you Henry Jones, we'll be back.

Room Tip: Standard room was lovely. We had lots of original jam factory features like a gable roof and beams a...

Overall this was a good start to our Tasmania vacation but with a number of reservations...
There are health/safety features in a converted old property such as a set of stairs 2 feet INSIDE your hotel bedroom as you are being shown in, which caused a fall and a bad start.
Staff are knowledgeable and efficient. It is pricey and with spa baths in some of the rooms...took me back to the 80s...and movies of that decade....
It is pricey for what you get but seems to be hosting one Art reception or launch one night after another, so can charge big bucks, and it does!
Good breakfasts done with style but niggly extra charges if you attempt to order eg oatmeal with a cooked breakfast...."that will be extra Sir"...
I won't rush back...

Room Tip: Ask for a room without lethal steps just inside the door of your bedroom

I'd heard great reviews of this hotel so I had high expectations and was worried I would be disappointed but no they were exceeded. If you like boutique hotels this place is up there - service is brilliant, ambience fantastic, amenities great and location perfect. We are looking at holding a small international conference in Australia late next year and this hotel along with the exciting things happening in Hobart at the moment puts this place on top of our list!
