This hotel is a very cosy and historical feauture of Hobart.

As soon as you walk in, there is instant feeling of being transported to Northern Europe. The double sliding doors, is the first clue that a warm interior is awaiting you inside.

The sandstone combined with the beautiful modern interiors blends perfectly, and top marks for design.

Our room (a deluxe harbour view) was very spacious, and bathroom enormous, with a double spa bath.

Walking the ahlls and corridors of this hotel, lets you explore the various pieces of art, and abosultely worth spending some time doing so.

Staff very very helpful and accommodating (providing new pillows for us).

Absolutely recommend this place.

PS: Bar looked awesome, although we unfortunately did not have time for proper visit.

Enjoy

Spent four nights here last year.
We booked one of the Oriental Suites - it was amazing.
The spa bath was positioned right in front of the window, so you could sit in the tub and look out over the harbour.
The suite itself was spacious, beautiful decor, and it was warm - we were there in the middle of winter. The bed was huge, and so comfortable we didn't want to leave it!
The hotel itself is beautiful, it used to be a jam factory, but has been beautifully restored.
We ate dinner at the fine dining restaurant, it was delicious. We also ate breakfast at the cafe in the courtyard, which was reasonable priced, and also very good.
The hotel bar was very lively, and the staff were excellent, inventing cocktails to suit our tastes.
The concierge was very helpful, recommending various bars and restaurants to us on arrival, and even drew us a map to find a particular burger bar which he recommended.
Valet parking was good also.
Location wise, you couldn't pick a nicer part of Hobart to stay. It was right on the pier, very quiet location with minimal traffic, and it was just a five minute walk along the waterfront to Elizabeth pier, the Salamanca markets
etc.
Highly recommend. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Hobart again. Worth every penny.

The only thing we had an issue with was that our suite was not very warm, and in Tassy that is important. The booking staff were brilliant and the general atmosphere and overall feel of this hotel are world class, coupled with the most amazing location right on one of the best waterfronts on the planet. A place I would stay again and again if we could afford to, and highly recommend, just make sure you ask for an extra blanket ;)

Once a year, in the middle of Winter, my wife and I venture to old Hobart town for some R & R and fresh air. This Hotel is superb. The location on Constitution Dock is in the quiet action yet the hotel remains calm and peaceful. Our room, 205, had a harbor view. It was spacious, superbly cleaned every day and was cosy and comfortable and so quiet. The staff are always of a very high standard and always willing to help or advise. Nothing is a trouble to the team here. The guys in the Long Bar are alchemists. Plying their cocktail mixing trade with enthusiasm like nutty professors, cooking, mixing, shaking, measuring and providing the magic in a glass as well as having fun with those patrons consuming their elixirs.
Go to Tassie as soon as you can. Eat [everywhere the hospitality and food is great], drink [a scrumptious Pinot, Riesling or world class Single Malt Whisky] drive to the many natural wonders and walk in the beautiful Aussie Bush. And, definitely stay at The Henry Jones Art Hotel.

Room Tip: Room 205 is a cracker!

Beautiful hotel, rooms are renovated keeping the ambience of the old building. So much beautiful art in the hallways and the food is exemplary of the art series hotels.
A little pricey for Hobart but worth it.

This is a truly great hotel. I don't mean the building, or the decor, or location, all of which are great in their own right. It's the people that make this a great hotel. The service is first class, you can tell the staff genuinely care and enjoy their work, and this makes all the difference. Top tip - the cooked breakfast (cooked to order) is awesome.
