“We didn't want to leave!”

This was the the best and most relaxing 3 night getaway we've experienced.
Alison was an excellent host, making us feel most welcome and stocking the cottage with the most extensive range of provisions imaginable.
Cradle Mountain Visitor Centre is a comfortable hour's drive away, while a wildlife park is even closer.
You may choose to sit in the comfort of the cottage and read while watching the cattle graze in an adjacent paddock or walk 50 metres to a waterfall.
Three days was not long enough for us. We'd love to return for a longer holiday at Buttons Cottage.

“Beautiful Little Gem in a Tranquil Setting”
Reviewed 15 February 2015 for a stay in January 2015

We had the pleasure of staying here for two nights to celebrate our second wedding anniversay. It was so beautifull. Old world charm with modern conveniences. All the little touches that Alison did just made it perfect. Her attention to detail was wonderful. We were supplied with breakfast including fresh fruit and eggs. There were amazing homemade sausage rolls and scones in the freezer. The cottage was tastefully decorated and very comfortable. The bed we slept in was so comfortable which is unusual when away from home. it was so nice to be away from the stresses of everyday life and to just relax. We were even grateful not to have any phone or internet coverage. It was as if we had escaped from our life for a couple of days. When time came to leave we both didnt want to. We will definately be returning.

“When can we come back?”

If you really want to escape to a romantic rural retreat, I cannot speak highly enough of Button's Cottage. We loved it so much we cancelled our other plans to extend our stay here, instead.

It's isolated, at least half an hour's drive to Ulverstone and there's no mobile or internet service (at least with our provider), but that's the beauty of it. I can't remember the last time I felt so relaxed! Although it's off the beaten track, it's easy enough to find. When you get to the windy gravel road keep going - you're nearly there!

The cottage itself is a little gem. Full of historic character and charm, yet equipped with all the basic modern conveniences you might need. Although it was quite brisk outside, we were warm and cosy inside and it was perfect weather for cooking up a hot soup with toasty bread from the supplies we'd brought with us.

There's plenty to do outside the cottage too. We tried our luck at fishing in the creek (there's fishing gear at the cottage) and took a hike to the waterfall (it can be slippery, so be sure to wear decent shoes/boots).

Our host Alison was friendly, warm and accommodating and made sure we were well provided for.

The only downside is that we had to come home - we'd have loved to stay longer!
