Owner description: A theatrical journey amongst the first buildings of European settlement in Hobart that now form the location for the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery. Your guide plays four different characters from Hobart's past, either men who worked in these buildings or helped build them, all of whom reveal secrets and relate stories from Hobart's convict beginnings. The most fun you will ever have learning history.

Came across this by chance. Lucky us. A really professional, class act: well-researched, entertaining, friendly, informative, energetically presented. Great connection with the group and we got to see parts of Hobart's oldest buildings that we would have missed otherwise. Really highly recommended.

After seeing Colin perform during Louisa's Walk I had to see his Settlement Secrets tour. A thoroughly entertaining history lesson with attention grabbing interaction that draws you right in.

Wow what an execellent dramatisation combind with historic infomation of the amazing TMAG. The tour consist's of one actor telling the early history of hobarts bond store customs house and the covering up of early colonial history. Colin changes charcter four times from lowly convict (including a ghost)to high class gentleman. Informative and educational and so entertaining. Loved it

A very enjoyable hour of history.
Unlike history presented as a dry set of plaques attached to buildings, this presents history as a living thing. Colin Dean recreates a series of historical figures related to the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery precinct, and gives them life and personality.
You get a chance to look at some areas of the museum that are not general public areas, and an appreciation of the evolution of the site.
The tour is about an hour long, and is not a difficult walk.
I recommend this to anyone interested in how Hobart, and the museum, became what it is today.
